Installing NUT on Solaris
I'm running Solaris 10 on a dozen SPARC boxes. I'd like to explore NUT for use with our snmp UPS, but I'm unable to complete the configure/make/install process. Can anyone share a how-to for solaris? -- Do things because you should, not just because you can. Question marks in Broadcast Messages
I'm setting up a NUT server. During testing, I have deployed it on both CentOS and SUSE. I have both servers looking at two physical UPSs and two "dummy" UPSs. My NUT client is running on Solaris and is rigged to look at the "dummy" UPSs. As I toggle states on the dummy UPSs, the client correctly detects the changes and throws a message of the type: > Broadcast

monitoring Eaton parallel/redundant UPSs
I have been happily using NUT to monitor a couple of Eaton UPS. These are independent UPSs, each driving one "leg" of the power in our data center. In this scenario, I've told my clients they need to have one UPS working and to shutdown when the last UPS reaches critical battery. I have recently learned that our power arrangement will be changing to a parallel-fed/redundant

OpenUPS2 support in the HID driver?
I bought a very nice little, self contained, UPS from mini-box: http://www.mini-box.com/OpenUPS2 thinking it would be handled by NUT. I think I misread or misinterpreted the HCL http://www.networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html The OpenUPS UPS is listed as supported under usbhid-ups, and I had assumed that OpenUPS2 would be as well. Bzzzzt. I get a unknown device ID for d005 Is adding (or

Errors when running on Windows
I'm facing a looming deadline for getting this working, so I'm hoping someone experienced can weigh in on this. I'm getting errors in the Event Log when stopping the service: 1. Error stopping upsd (2) 2. Error stopping upsmon (2) Is there a detailed log somewhere? How can I track this down and find out what they mean? Or does someone know? Also, these three commands result in

Issue with apcupsd-ups?
Hello;I just came across NUT, testing FreeNAS/FreeBSD. I?m running at home a APC UPS connected to another computer, running apcupsd. I found out that NUT didn't talk by default to apcupsd, and there was a driver created relatively recently (apcupsd-ups), which filled in that gap. The version I found on my FreeBSD/FreeNAS system seems to imply that there is more to come to that driver (0.04)

Master Works, Slave Does Not
I have made changes but it is still the same. That is when the server gets the lowbat/noAC signal it does shut down as expected but the slave does not. Perhaps it makes sense for me to list the present settings: On the Master: nut.conf MODE=netserver ups.conf [sdrups] driver = genericups port = /dev/ttyS1 desc = "For Server &

How to get started (Windows)
I've been able to get the latest Windows port installed on my Hyper-V 2012 R2 instance and start the service. But as I'm an absolute beginner I'm not sure how to proceed further. I've browsed the archives, but discussions here tend to assume at least an intermediate level of understanding; thus it's still quite a bit over my head. Your patience and slow explanations are

Apple Mac slave
Hello, I am running NUT on a Synology NAS with attached a USB APC UPS. I am trying to connect and shutdown a Mac OS X system. I have installed the NUT software and it looks like there is connection with the master but when battery gets low the Mac is not shutdown. I don't know if I have to configure upssched.conf and where? On the slave (Mac) ? It will be great to know before I will start
