monitoring Eaton parallel/redundant UPSs
I have been happily using NUT to monitor a couple of Eaton UPS. These are independent UPSs, each driving one "leg" of the power in our data center. In this scenario, I've told my clients they need to have one UPS working and to shutdown when the last UPS reaches critical battery. I have recently learned that our power arrangement will be changing to a parallel-fed/redundant

Slave only configuration
It appears that, without munging the startup scripts, it isn't possible to create a slave-only configuration. The scenario is this: My NUT server doesn't need to turn off, it isn't allowed to turn the UPS off, and it isn't authoritative to turn any other server off. Its only job is to make UPS status available to NUT clients. My NUT clients are independent of the NUT server.

Installing NUT on Solaris
I'm running Solaris 10 on a dozen SPARC boxes. I'd like to explore NUT for use with our snmp UPS, but I'm unable to complete the configure/make/install process. Can anyone share a how-to for solaris? -- Do things because you should, not just because you can. OpenUPS2 support in the HID driver?
I bought a very nice little, self contained, UPS from mini-box: http://www.mini-box.com/OpenUPS2 thinking it would be handled by NUT. I think I misread or misinterpreted the HCL http://www.networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html The OpenUPS UPS is listed as supported under usbhid-ups, and I had assumed that OpenUPS2 would be as well. Bzzzzt. I get a unknown device ID for d005 Is adding (or

Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Greetings Gentlebeings, I have started deploying a number of NUT instances on Raspberry Pi machines (Raspbian Jessie) across my network. The purpose of these "nutcases" as we refer to them is to monitor the status of the UPSs supporting our network switching infrastructure and notify us of power and battery events via email. No shutdown or other actions are required. Everything is

Email Alerts for Multiple UPSs with upssched
Ah! So I can detect the source UPS in the upssched.conf and pass it as a distinct event to the shell script. That sounds like an excellent approach. Thanks! Windows: SHUTDOWNCMD stopped working after Creators Update
Hi all! All was working fine with all my UPSs and Windows 10 machines, NUT will notify events to NOTIFYCMD (which point to a .bat script to show messages) and finally will shutdown the system via SHUTDOWNCMD, that is another .bat file that simply uses shutdown.exe to hibernate the system. Today I upgraded all my machines to the latest Creators Update, and now NOTIFYCMD works as I can see

NUT - General Concept Question
I've been looking over the documentation and several installation guides for NUT, and I'm starting to get a little bit of a feel for what it is. But I'm still not clear whether what I'd *like* to accomplish is actually practical using NUT. Perhaps someone here can tell me if they've done something similar, or if I'm way off base. I would like to set up a Linux host as a

Hi, I hope some one can help. I need to compute Thurston's case 5 on a large set of data. I have gotten as far as computing the proportional preference matrix but the next math is beyond me. Multiple Tripplite OMNI900LCD
We have multiple TrippLite Omni900LCD UPS. There are a couple pieces of equipment connected to each UPS. I would like to connect the UPSs to one computer through USB which would shutdown the appropriate equipment based on events monitored by upsmon using upssched. I've configured NUT using usbhid-ups driver and compiled/installed NUT. I've done some testing and it seems to work.

NUT proxy?
Hi, I want to use nut-cgi from a centralized machine. There are two firewalls which run upsmon. upsmon connected to the real upsd which run two machines behind the firewall. So upsmon is using LAN for communicating to upsd. First problem: I can't connect to upsmon with upsstats.cgi because upsmon not listen on TCP port. Second problem: How can I check more upsd with upsmon? All upsd are

UPS Groups?
I've used nut for simple configurations before but now one has grown to a more complex setup and can't seem to find any info online. I would like to have single central nut master monitor a bank of UPSs for a whole rack of servers with redundant PSUs. So UPS A1 ---> Server group A PSU 1 UPS A2 ---> Server group A PSU 2 UPS B1 ---> Server group B PSU 1 UPS B2 ---> Server
