Unable to set up a "serial-over-USB" UPS (APC BZ2200BI-BR)
Dear NUT users/developers,
I'm having trouble while trying to configure the UPS APC BZ2200BI-BR[1] in NUT,
which despite having a USB cable it apparently communicates using the serial
protocol.
The relevant output of 'lsusb' is:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 051d:c812 American Power Conversion
The device is registered as /dev/ttyACM0 and uses the kernel module 'cdc_acm'

Unable to set up a "serial-over-USB" UPS (APC BZ2200BI-BR)
Hello Charles and Douglas,
I really believe that BZ2200-BR model is the same as mine BZ1200-BR, with
different capacity.
If you see the BZ2200-BR specs you will notice the manufacturer
"APC-Microsol".
Those no-breaks have a USB port in it, but in fact it is a serial<->usb
cable, usually uses the port "/dev/cuaU0".
In mine, the serial<->usb chip is from FTDI, and

Yes, the driver and upsd need to agree on the path to the socket.
From the FreeBSD ports tree:

APC BZ1200-BR
Dear friends,
I installed NUT and followed all suggested procedures to
verify if my ups is supported.
No driver recognized my ups, and the genericups tests
get wrong.
Here I send some informations about it:
The ups model is APC BZ1200-BR
I use Ubuntu, and the lsusb results

MGE ESV+ and Power Trim
Hi Arnaud & Charles,
You?ll have to forgive my low level of Linux Understanding here?.
I downloaded the source files, modified the appropriate driver file, re-compiled it (all of this was a lot of research and learning!)
When I use the new driver I get ?

CyberPower SX650G no driver.
Got the:
git clone git://github.com/networkupstools/nut.git
To work. Had to all so do this:
apt-get install autoconf
apt-get install libtool
Did put driver = usbhid-ups in the /etc/nut/ups.conf file like you said.
Here is what I got for it all:
root at odroid-u2:~/nut# ./autogen.sh
Calling autoreconf...

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] Add nbd forwarder test coverage
To avoid bitrot, any new feature needs testsuite coverage ;)
Still to come: once I get my work on parallel nbd finished,
I will add a test-parallel-nbd.sh that closely mirrors what
my other series added in test-parallel-file.sh.
If desired, it might be a fun exercise to tweak test-nbd into
using a for-loop of user-controlled depth for how deep you
want to nest the forwarding tree, to see where

Data stale error after short while
Thanks Dan and Charles - I've found the usb passthrough will be a
non-starter (not supported on my host).
Dan - is your recommendation to build Nut from source or just the driver?
I'm trying to build the whole project but am obviously missing
dependencies... I've come across a configure error
syntax error near unexpected token `CPPUNIT,'
which I've seen in a previous

bestfortress driver establishes/loses/establishes communication and so on...
[As posted as Ubuntu Question #184284 on Launchpad]
Hi, I try to set up nut (2.4.3) on my Lucid (10.04.3 LTS) to make use of
my old but very trusty UPS (Best Power Fortress 660 LI).
Yes, this UPS is old (about 16 years), but with its third battery pack
last week it is as good as new. It runs perfectly well with Windows XP,
Vista and even Windows 7. But not so with Ubuntu and nut.

Liebert PSIXR 3000 intellislot web card support with NUT 2.6.0
Hi,
Just started using NUT with a Liebert PSI-XR 3000 with an Intellislot web card.
It seems I can't get it to run properly.
I am using NUT 2.6.0 built from source on Ubuntu 8.0.4 .
My build parameters are :
./configure --enable-strip
--with-linux-hiddev=/usr/include/linux/hiddev.h
--with-udev-dir=/lib/udev \
--prefix=/usr \
--exec-prefix=/ \
--sysconfdir=/etc/nut \
