Developing the UPS side of the UPS-NUT equation (via usbhid)
So, going with the proposed initial design, I created a report descriptor to describe the battery. I thought that I'd then see how NUT responded to it. The good news is that the descriptor showed up and all of the paths were correct. Unfortunately, after that, nothing happened...no reports were requested, and it just kept timing out. Is there some minimum amount of functionality I need to

newhidups capture - Atlantis-Land HID UPS
Hello Charles!
As promised, I just checked out the CVS and recompiled everything. In
the attached .txt is what is coming out from my UPS. I am wondering
about all those zeroes.
Also, this morning I plan to connect the UPS to a Win box running the
monitoring program supplied with the UPS (UPSilon2000) and a USB sniffer
program. If you have any suggestions on what to look for in the data,

help writing a usb hid driver for existing ups
I've got a Powercom Imperial UPS, with an internal
USB<=>serial converter. It implements the same
protocol as other powercom devices implements, but
only when talking over serial port (there's no such
port on the device). Someone wrote a draft version
of usbserial driver for it, and the UPS works with
this kernel-level driver and with powercom driver
from nut (using /dev/ttyUSBx

Atlantis-Land UPS with Cypress CY7C63723 chip (cypress_m8 driver) support
Hello everybody!
I am trying to get an Atlantis-Land OnePower Line Interactive S1501
UPS (actually it is made by Ablerex) to talt to my Linux box through its
USB port (no more RS-232...), either using the supplied program
(UPSilon2000, works under Win and Linux) or whatever else.
The UPSilon2000 program apparently works OK *if* it can talk to the
UPS via a serial port; since my UPS has

Possible leaking records in dashboard db
I''m using puppet-dashboard 1.1.0-1 on Ubuntu. I remove old reports using this command:
nice -n +1 rake RAILS_ENV=production reports:prune upto=1 unit=mon
This seems to work fine, and the amount of reports returnd by this mysql query seems to drop by the proper amount:
select count(*) from reports;
Right now it returns a value of 12591. So far so good.
The problem is the

new ups for database?
I have a Belkin F6H500ukUNV ups that I am attempting to get working
under nut, however it
does not appear to be detected by nut, I'm assuming that I need to
feed some information
back to you guys to get it included in the database somwhere.
I've included (what I can think might be) the relivant outputs. Please
let me know if you
require anything else.

Developing the UPS side of the UPS-NUT equation (via usbhid)
Charles,
Thank you so much for the information. I'm trying to digest it along with the other docs I have, the example code from Microchip, and a USB HID tutorial I found online.
So, if I understand correctly.... When the device first connects, it sends a huge dump of data (which the usbhid driver shows when you use the debug option) which fully describes the data it is capable of sending.

I realize that some of the descriptions can be a bit vague, so if you want to post a link to the HID tutorial, I can try to describe what is going on

More words for Allison
Here's the latest batch of words to get shipped out to Allison Smith.
Please submit reasonably small changes to me by tomorrow 10:00 AM
Eastern time, and I'll add them.
As usual, donations to what will be a ~$110 USD expense would be
appreciated, as I am paying for this round out of my pocket. Please
send to paypal address "jtodd@loligo.com". I did not include all

At the moment, we use USB VID and PID to select which HID-to-NUT tables to consult (since some vendors have "custom"

Puppet Dashboard: db:migrate failure (1.2.2 to 1.2.4)
An error I managed to hit today, trying to migrate puppet dashboard from
1.2.2 to 1.2.4 (after upgrading the master to puppet 2.7.9 seemed to
prevent the dashboard from importing new reports). I''m trying to re-run it
now, but as you might guess, the DB is pretty huge and the process takes a
while to execute.
Executed from the puppet-dashboard directory: sudo rake db:migrate

ggplot2: stat_smooth for family=binomial with cbind(Y, N) formula
With ggplot2, I can plot the glm stat_smooth for binomial data when the
response is binary or
a two-level factor as follows:

ggplot(Donner, aes(age, survived)) +
geom_point(position = position_jitter(height = 0.02, width = 0)) +
stat_smooth(method = "glm", family = binomial, formula = y ~ x,

have been a lot of logs on two fronts for the first time.
1. The kernel has indicated overheating:

Developing the UPS side of the UPS-NUT equation (via usbhid)
My company is developing a new UPS, with smarts provided by a PIC32 Microchip micro-controller. The controller comes with a demo for a USBHID-UPS, and after some tweaking, I was able to get NUT to recognize it and start showing some reasonable values.
To make this UPS as easy to use as possible for the end-user who chooses Linux, I figured I would just completely implement the official USB HID

Writing contrast statements to test difference of slope in linear regressions
Hi Everyone,
I am uncertain that I am writing the contrast statements correctly. Basically, I'm unsure when to use a -1 and a 1 when writing the contrasts. Specifically I am interested in comparing the slopes between different temperature regimes. Temperature is therefore a factor. Time and percent are numerical. Using the gmodels package I made the following model:

amdtemp does not find my CPU.
Hi!
Im running FreeBSD 9.1 on a AMD APU machine:
CPU: AMD E-450 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (1699.36-MHz K8-class CPU)

I try to use amdtemp(4) to read the temperature of this CPU but it
doesnt seem to detect the CPU. The manual states that it should support
K8-class.

ANCOVA/glm missing/ignored interaction combinations
Hi
I am using R version 2.7.2. on a windows XP OS and have a question
concerning an analysis of covariance with count data I am trying to do,
I will give details of a scaled down version of the analysis (as I have
more covariates and need to take account of over-dispersion etc etc) but
as I am sure it is only a simple problem but I just can't see how to fix
it.
I have a data set with count
