snmp-ups shutdowns
Hello all, I was asked about a proper way to ensure powerfail shutdown of a blade server fed off an APC SmartUPS, which is monitored by all hosts over SNMP. In particular, they'd like to avoid the "untimely" return of utility power - when the OSes are already shutting down, and would stay down because the UPS is well-fed now and thus won't power off and later power on to boot

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hi Charles, thanks for the clarification on the libusb. that indeed does work to get the value in ./configure. I've tried installing a .deb sudo dpkg -i nut_2.7.4-5_all.deb (Reading database ... 103447 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace nut 2.6.4-2.3+deb7u1 (using nut_2.7.4-5_all.deb) ... Unpacking replacement nut ... Setting up nut (2.7.4-5) ... which

paste command with new line separator
Win xp sp2, R v2.7.1 Hi. If I have two numeric columns in a data frame, I can use the paste command to combine them into a new column separated by a comma. c3=paste(c1,c2,sep=',') gives: 1 1 -> "1,1" Is there any way I can use a new line (\n) as a separator? i.e. 1 1 -> 1 1 I tried paste(1,1,'\n') but it only gives "1\n1" Is there any other

NUT not recognising Mini-box OpenUPS 2
Hello, Would like to see if I could get some help with this UPS on a debian set-up. Am not the best with linux and have tried what I managed to find elsewhere on the list so am just trying here. 1) Device seems supported: http://networkupstools.org/ddl/Mini-Box.com/OpenUPS2.html 2) lsusb -v -d 04d8: seems to give the right parameters including product name, max power etc from the unit 3)

BestPower Ferrups driver glitch with f commands
Greetings to you all, We are attempting to use NUT to interface with a BestPower FerrUPS FE2.1KVA. We are using the bestfcom driver because the driver listed our UPS as supported. The driver fails, however, because "fc" commands do not exist on the unit. We are running NUT v2.7.1 on CentOS 6.5 with the bestfcom driver. We setup a serial tap and see the UPS error out on the fc command

snmp-ups hacking
Hi all! I'm wondering if there's anyone doing any hacking on the snmp-ups driver at the moment. I've started looking at implementing 3phase-support, and this uncovered some rather unpleasant stuff in the snmp-ups driver that I really need to fix in order to get things sane. Those of you that's allergic to SNMP might want to stop reading now, this is rather icky ;)

A housekeeping question...
Evening all: Stepping away from the stats methodology questions for a moment, I have a housekeeping question for when it comes time to make the jump to v2.7.2. I'm running v2.7.1 on an XP system. I have a suspicion that, by way of experimentation with a couple of shell choices along the way, I've left myself with a couple of unused stowaway libraries that I see no need to bring along

Installation of packages via GUI, Mac OS X
All, I'm running R v2.7.1 on Mac OS X. When I go to the R package installer GUI, I am not prompted to select a repository. The usual screen is there but the columns for package, installed version, and repository version are all populated via blank entries. If I select "Get List" the error below occurs. The same thing occurs if I go form the command line via install.packages.
