Invalid Signature of orc::RTDyldObjectLinkingLayer::NotifyLoadedFtor
Hi all, hi Lang It's a little late to report issues for release_50, but I just found that thing while porting my JitFromScratch examples to 5.0. This is a really nifty detail, but (if I'm not mistaken) the function signature of RTDyldObjectLinkingLayer::NotifyLoadedFtor is incorrect: $ grep -h -r -A 1 "using NotifyLoadedFtor"

Recompile (and re-link) a function at runtime using ORC JIT for an ARM platform
Hi, We are making the move from legacy JIT (llvm-3.5.x) to ORC JIT and I am looking to recompile (and re-link) functions at runtime for an ARM platform (Odroid XU3) . I looked at OrcLazyJIT.cpp as a starting point. However, after going through the code, it appears that the createCompileCallbackMgr (llvm-3.8.0) / createLocalCompileCallbackManager (llvm-git) do not support an ARM triple yet.

[ORC JIT] Exposing IndirectStubsManager from CompileOnDemandLayer.h
I needed to be able to update stub pointers for hot functions that get recompiled in a lazy JIT that uses CompileOnDemandLayer. In order to do this I added a method that allows pointers to be updated but does not expose any of the other internals of the COD layer. Does anyone have a cleaner way to do this? Has something to facilitate this already been added? Would it be possible to merge this

[ORC JIT] Exposing IndirectStubsManager from CompileOnDemandLayer.h
Hi Sean, This is great, but it couples LogicalDylib too tightly to CompileOnDemandLayer. Does this alternative implementation of getLogicalModuleResourcesForSymbol work for you (unfortunately I don't have a local test case for this yet): LogicalModuleResources* getLogicalModuleResourcesForSymbol(const std::string &Name, bool

[3.7 Release] Let's fix the release notes!
Dear everyone, The in-progress release notes for 3.7 [1,2] make it look like we didn't do very much over the past six months. Obviously that's not the case at all, so let's get them in shape! If you've been thinking "I should probably add this to the release notes at some point", now is the time :-) I have a list below of changes that might be worth mentioning. I

Monitoring ZFS host memory use
Hi, Please forgive me if my searching-fu has failed me in this case, but I''ve been unable to find any information on how people are going about monitoring and alerting regarding memory usage on Solaris hosts using ZFS. The problem is not that the ZFS ARC is using up the memory, but that the script Nagios is using to check memory usage simply sees, say 96% RAM used, and alerts. The

Crashes when adding VisualStduio generated object files to the JIT process
Hello everyone, I'm using the LLVM for a JIT-Client under Windows 64bit. I tried various stuff with it and noticed, that object files or libraries which are generated by the Visual Studio Compiler 2015 or 2017 will break the jitted code, when they are added to the process. I opened a bug for this a while ago (https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39447) - sadly this bug will become a stopper

[ORC JIT] Exposing IndirectStubsManager from CompileOnDemandLayer.h
It does work. I just tested it on my JIT. Thanks! As for the part that couples them too tightly, would you recommend I just keep my own specialized version of CompileOnDemandLayer.h that includes this functionality, or do you have any ideas for a cleaner way to do this? I've noticed a couple of people asking for support for updating stub pointers for functions that are optimized at runtime,

My apologies - I wasn't very clear in my description of the issue. The only sense in which your original patch was tightly coupled was that it had

OrcV1 removal
Hi All, I've updated the orcv1 removal branch ( https://github.com/lhames/llvm-project/tree/orcv1-removal) with an initial patch for removable code. If anyone wants to follow along with the development or share thoughts on the design you're very welcome to. I'll be adding tests and comments this week, but for anyone who wants to take an early look the main elements are defined in

Long to wide format without time variable
Hi all, I am trying to convert a data set of physician death codings (each individual's cause of death is coded by multiple physicians) from long to wide format, but the "reshape" function doesn't seem to work because it requires a "time" variable to identify the sequence among the repeated observations within individuals. My data set has no order, and different

ORC C Interface & JITEventListeners
Hi, I am working on using LLVM to compile parts of longrunning PostgreSQL queries into native code for faster code execution. As postgres is, nearly, entirely written in C and has long-lived (5 years) supported branches (making the higher API stability important), I'm currently using the C API. I started out using MCJIT but it looks like that's slowly on the way out. My current concern

Sorting data from one column with strings
Hello, I have tried to find this out some other way, but unsuccessful I have to try this list. I assume this should be quite simple. I have a dataset with 4 columns, "Sample_no", "Species", "Nitrogen", "Carbon" in csv format. In the species column I have many different species with varying number of obs per species Eg "Sample_no"

ORC JIT Weekly #7 -- JITEventListener support and Swift Immediate Mode Migration
Hi All, Just a couple of updates this week: First: there is a preview patch up at https://reviews.llvm.org/D75838 to enable use of JITEventListeners in RTDyldObjectLinkingLayer. I've only done very preliminary testing on it, but was able to debug simple JIT'd programs on Linux using the GDB registration listener. If you've been wanting to move to ORC but held up by lack of debugger /

UML Class and Object Diagrams in R
Hi all Does anyone know if there are any R packages available for creating UML class and object diagrams in R (suitable for use with Latex)? I'm considering developing such a system... Note, I'm aware there are Latex packages (so no one needs to state the obvious). On a side issue I'm thinking about (mostly) abandoning the class system I mentioned earlier. Thank you to Martin

Standardize environment between specs containing class defs
I have some specs that involve the use of eval and class definitions to test code generation. I want to always start with a clean slate so none of my tests fail or succeed incorrectly due to artifacts left over from previous specs. Example of my situation Spec 1 defines class Fish class Cod < Fish Spec 2 defines class Animal class Cod < Animal In this situation the

Separating boot results
Good Morning, I'm having what I hope to be a simple problem. I am generating bootstrap confidence intervals using package (boot) - which works perfectly. The issue I am having is getting the results into a format which I can write out to a database. To be clear I am having no problems generating the results, I just need to convert the format of the results such that I can store the results in
