Issues with new Attributor (replaceAllUses fails with type mismatch)
Hi Suresh, thanks for reporting this! I thought I fixed this with 8d94d3c3b44c3a27a69b153cef9be4b8e481150e. Did you run before or after that commit? Current status of Attributor
Hi all, What's the current status of Attributor? How far is it from being enabled by default? Thanks, Alexey -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/attachments/20200828/0abd04c3/attachment.html>

[LLVMdev] trying to build llvm-gcc in linux/amd64
I am trying to build llvm-gcc4 on a amd64. I had to add the attached patch to get the build system to select the correct library. Now the build fails while compiling a code that has __builtin_va_copy. The attached test.i fails with: cc1: ../../trunk/gcc/llvm-convert.cpp:443: llvm::Value* TreeToLLVM::Emit(tree_node*, llvm::Value*): Assertion `(isAggregateType(((exp)->common.type)) == (DestLoc

[GSOC] "Project: Improve inter-procedural analyses and optimisations"
Hi Farad, > I tried to do this for the NoUnwind attribute Hmm, I don't have experience with this attribute but it seems like a good starting point since it doesn't do much. First of all, be sure that you run with: opt -passes=attributor -attributor-disable=false This uses the new pass manager which is another discussion. Now, to the point: If you open nounwind.ll, it has a bunch of

[GSOC] "Project: Improve inter-procedural analyses and optimisations"
Hi all, My name is Fahad Nayyar. I am an undergraduate student from India. I am interested to participate in GSOC under the project “Improve inter-procedural analyses and optimizations”. I have been using LLVM for the past 8 months. I have written various intra-procedural analysis in LLVM as FunctionPass for my course projects and research projects. But I’ve not contributed to the LLVM

[LLVMdev] opt -O3 causes Assertion `New->getType() == getType() && "replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type!"' failed
Milind, Have you filed a bug on this? If not, can you please open a bug report (http://llvm.org/bugs)? -Hal ----- Original Message ----- > I am hitting an LLVM assertion from the llc tool iff the bitcode file > is optimized at -O3 level by opt). -O1 and -O2 levels of opt do not > cause this assert. > > LLVM version 3.4svn > DEBUG build with assertions. > Built Jul 14

[LLVMdev] opt -O3 causes Assertion `New->getType() == getType() && "replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type!"' failed
I am hitting an LLVM assertion from the llc tool iff the bitcode file is optimized at -O3 level by opt). -O1 and -O2 levels of opt do not cause this assert. LLVM version 3.4svn DEBUG build with assertions. Built Jul 14 2013 (15:39:08). Default target: x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu Host CPU: amdfam10 I have attached the input bc file before -O3 optimization :bzip2.del.bc.tgz I have attached

Bug in pass 'ipsccp' on function attribute 'argmemonly'?
Thank you Hal and Stefan! Bug report is filed: https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46717 And Stefan, I think 'attributor' is a really nice pass, and can infer more precise and useful attributes, which may give more opportunities for optimization. But we shouldn't depend on 'attributor' to correct wrong function attributes, because we cannot run 'attributor' after

[LLVMdev] opt -O3 causes Assertion `New->getType() == getType() && "replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type!"' failed
Hi, I don't see the LLVM bug I filed (http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=16780) making any progress. Can someone suggest me whether the bug is in the correct state? -Milind On Fri, Aug 2, 2013 at 1:29 PM, Milind Chabbi <Milind.Chabbi at rice.edu> wrote: > Hi Hal, > > I have filed http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=16780 > > -Milind > > On Fri, Aug 2, 2013 at

[LLVMdev] Assertion: replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type! being thrown all of a sudden
Hello, I wonder if someone would know what is going on below. All of a sudden I’m getting this assertion thrown: Assertion failed: (New->getType() == getType() && "replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type!"), function replaceAllUsesWith, file /Users/meister/Development/externals-clasp/llvm36/lib/IR/Value.cpp, line 345. [LLVMdev] Assertion: replaceAllUses of value with new value of different type! being thrown all of a sudden
I forgot to mention this in my initial email. The build of LLVM that I was using was commit a0d5d7aed8e177cea381b3d054d80c212ece9f2c The date on the commit is: Date: Fri Sep 26 12:34:06 2014 Also: Today I grabbed the ToT llvm/clang/clang-extra-tools and I’m working on getting my code to be compatible with it. I can switch back and forth between the current ToT llvm and the old one. Thanks,

Machine learning and compiler optimizations: using inter-procedural analysis to select optimizations
Hi Johannes - great we are engaging on this. Some responses now and some later. 1. When you say setup LLVM dev environment +. clang + tools etc, do you mean setup LLVM compiler code from the repo and build it locally? If so, yes, this is all done from my end - that is, I have built all this on my machine and compiled and run a couple of function passes. I have look at some LLVM emits from clang

Hello. I'm getting the following error after adding some extra instrumentation in a module (LoopVectorize.cpp ) due to a bug in Value::replaceAllUsesWith (see more comments of mine below): Value::replaceAllUsesWith(New = i16* inttoptr (i16 51 to i16*)), this = %VectorGep = getelementptr i16, i16* inttoptr (i16 51 to i16*), <128 x i64> zeroinitializer, !dbg !17 ; this

Machine learning and compiler optimizations: using inter-procedural analysis to select optimizations
I am a grad CS student at Stanford and wanted to engage with EJ Park, Giorgis Georgakoudis, Johannes Doerfert to further develop the Machine Learning and Compiler Optimization concept. My background is in machine learning, cluster computing, distributed systems etc. I am a good C/C++ developer and have a strong background in algorithms and data structure. I am also taking an advanced compiler
