Non Standard USB HID UPS
Hello, I've already written to the list before about my non-standard hid Unitek UPS. I've tried to use hiddev to access my UPS as its USB HID interface is the same as the energizerups. Nevertheless, the protocols are different and I didn't manage to communicate with my UPS through hiddev. Moreover, the problem described in this page http://www.vttoth.com/ER-OF800.htm about the Linux

Master privileges unavailable on UPS
Hello all, I'm having problems with what I'm told should be a straightforward issue. The message in /var/log/daemon is: <quote> Feb 13 10:37:57 lupin upsmon[31324]: Master privileges unavailable on UPS [lupin1500AVR@localhost]

usbmon fails silently to start with invalid RUN_AS_USER values
Hi. I have an improvement suggestion. Say that a careless user starts editing upsmon.conf before having read the complete documentation (not that I know of any such users of course) and starts by adding "RUN_AS_USER = nutmon" and then creates this user. Later he discovers that the rpm package already has created a "nut" user and therefore deletes the nutmon user but forgets to

problem with NOTIFYCMD
After some testing, I notice that my NOTIFYCMD script seems to work if I call it as user 'john' (that's me) but if I call it as 'root' it does not work. So is there a permissions issue ? I have permission on the file set to 755. I see there is a variable in upsmon.conf called RUN_AS_USER. I do not have this defined. Does this variable need to be defined ? I presume that if

upsd.conf - run as user option
The upsmon.conf has the option of setting RUN_AS_USER username Might it be possible to add a similar option to the upsd.conf file? I see the -u command-line option for both upsmon and upsd, however, upsd doesn't seem to carry that to the configuration file, as upsmon does. Thanks.

Permissions error
https://youtu.be/vyBP7wpN72c?si=SQFhJQ7bhUAUNCIW I watched a youtube video to get this installed. I have standalone nut installation on Ubuntu 22.04.? UPS is a CP1500PFCLCD.? I have gotten as far as eliminating the no connection error that I was being broadcast.? I have the web view viewable at http://192.168.1.105/cgi-bin/nut/upsstats.cgi The problem I have I believe is permissions.

configure: added --with-group
I just committed the --with-group option for configure. One thing is not quite what I like, but I have no idea how to script this in autoconf. Currently both RUN_AS_USER and RUN_AS_GROUP have the defaults "nobody" and "nogroup" respectively. I think this really should be changed to the following: - if neither --with-user, nor --with-group are specified, we apply the defaults

Upsmon problem
Hi, I feel that i'm having a small problem with my upsmon configuration (maybe even simply a permissions problem) since I upgrade today to 2.0.2 I have apcsmart set up and talk to my ups no problem (upsc get answer). I have upsd running no problem! But when I try to start upsmon, it's unable to talk to my upsd. Having try a few option I found that saying RUN_AS_USER=root makes my upsmon

Shutdown script does not trigger
Dear nut users, I am fighting to configure a smooth server shutdown with an ubuntu server and a dell usb ups using nut. It seems that the drivers connect properly (upsc gives very coherent outputs). However I can't get anything to happen when the ups goes on battery. How can I be sure the the UPS status is really monitored ? Is there a particular log file where I upsmon reports problems

Do they have their own UPS's?
