SSH question
On my logwatch that I have emailed to me,
I see a line where I'm showed logging in via a known
ip address, and when I log in from my laptop through
my EV-DO card wirelessly, the computer show log in as
ok, but it can not translate the ip from the aircard
and marks the log in as a possible hack attempt.
How do you go in and set a network subnet as a valid
ip block and not an attack attempt?

FW: Logwatch for XXXXXXX.kd4efm.org (Linux)
Found an error or two from my logwatch report from yesterday,
thought I would share this in hopes this is just first time
run of the problem I noticed in the Kernel report section...
Also not sure why there's an issue with automount either....
but I guess I could ask on that issue as well.
I am not worried about the NAMED error, this is something that
happens due to one of the services that

AX25 kernel compile help
Is there someone who can help me compile
who can compile the latest kernel with ax25
and other item related to ROSE / NETRom ect. stuff
for a project I am working on?
I have looked at Knoppix and what not but the
kernel seems to be out of date a little.
I like the looks and feel of the centos format
and the GUI's that CentOS has and wanted
to test it out in the Amateur Radio realm.
Thanks

Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like
IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from
being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package
can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim
Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already.

Contour plot
Hi, I would like to make a contour plot with the data below, x-axis= Day
(increasing order, day number is out of 365 days of a year), y-axis= Depth
(varies), and z=pH. I tried to use filled.contour function, but not sure the
proper way to ordinate my z results into a matrix with different x and y
length. After that, if I attempted to plot the data, the x and y values are
not in ascending

Problem setting up Shorewall with 2 public IP''s
Greetings.
I run an Amateur Radio system (ampr.org) that requires 2 public ip''s on a RH 9.0 box. The primary one is 209.52.173.97 and is used for connections to the normal linux system and the usual apps such as web, ssh, smtp, etc. The secondary address is 209.52.173.98 and is routed via a pseudoslip link to the systems ampr address of 44.135.163.21. Software RAID 10?
Hello...
I have a server with 4 x SCSI drives and I would like to install Centos
4 (or 5) onto a software RAID 10 array. Do you know if this is
possible? I noticed that under the Centos 4.92 beta, RAID 5 is an option
but for some reason RAID 10 is not listed.
There does appear to be a RAID 10 module....
/lib/modules/2.6.9-42.0.8.ELsmp/kernel/drivers/md/raid10.ko
More info I found here:

[Centos 5] minimum RAM required to install : 1GB ?
Hi,
From the release notes i can read :
"Note that the minimum RAM required to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux
4.92 has been raised to 1GB; the recommended RAM is 2GB. If a machine
has less than 1GB RAM, the installation process may hang."
Is it a joke/mistake ? :-O
1GB !!!
I tested installation process with 256M / Celeron 600, seems to
work ...)

netconfig in 4.92
After installing 4.92 I wanted to run netconfig.
It was not availble. I did "yum install netconfig" and got the package.
What should I have selected in the "custom packages" at install time to
get netconfig?
Thanks,
Jerry

4.92 and new HP dv9000 laptop
The new 4.92 installed nicely on this laptop...
I am trying to get wireless networking going.
I installed XEN.
my kernel is 2.6.18-1.2747.el5xen
I downloaded ipw3945-linux-1.2.0
This told me do download ieee80211-1.2.16
So when I try to compile ieee80211 it tells me

Data Censoring and Normality Tests
Hello,
I would like to know if there is a function in R that will test for
normality and handle censored data sets. Currently, I evaluate each
censored data set by the extent to which a normal scores plot
approximate a straight line. For complete data sets I use
shapiro.test().
Below is an example of a censored data set.
data1<-c(0.00, 0.00, 0.00, 5.86, 5.17, 8.17, 5.12, 4.92, 7.08,
