consolidating the NUT documentation on permissions, hotplug and udev
Arnaud et al, I have been meaning to collect some of the documentation updates for permission-related errors, and I was wondering if you would mind if we moved the scripts/udev/README and scripts/hotplug/README files out of scripts/ and into the docs/ directory (probably docs/permissions.txt). We could also cover the *BSD /dev/usb* permission issues there, as well. Any thoughts on this? -- -

Common Power Management : NUT and HAL (stage 1)
Hi fellows, I'm really pleased to announce that a first stage of NUT and HAL [1] integration has been reached: NUT drivers (in fact, only newhidups, tripplite_usb and bcmxcp_usb for the moment) can feed HAL data. It's a "quick and dirty" hack, as a proof of concept, and there is still lots of things to be done, both on NUT and HAL sides. But it's a good base, and very

NUT-2.0.5: newhidups on RedHat ES4
Hello everybody, After succeeded in "tuning" nut-2.0.0's hidups and 2.0.3's newhidups on customized Linux kernels, we are now facing a new challenge : trying to install nut-2.0.5 on a RedHat ES4 which is based on a 2.6.9 kernel. I picked up the 2.0.5 source package and follow the INSTALL doc until step 6. So far so good. RH ES4 is managed by udev, therefore I presume we

Yet another HID device - Cyberpower AE550
Hope it's not too rude to just drop this here for y'all... Have you had NUT woking on CentOS 6.5 for a USB UPS ?
Hi, Is anyone running NUT on CentOS 6.5 for a USB connection from a UPS ? The reason I ask is that I have not been able to achieve this by EPEL repository packages, nor by downloading and building from the NUT source http://www.networkupstools.org/source/2.7/nut-2.7.2.tar.gz I have been unable to get Debian NUT packages to work with my Eaton E5 USB UPS, however I have been successful when

NUT 2.x causes uhci-usb error messages in syslog.
Hello, For a while I have been running NUT 2.0.0 just fine with my APC Back-UPS RS 800 using the usbhid interface. I decided to upgrade to 2.0.2, and all went well (upsc and upsd/upsmon seem happy to talk to the UPS), but I am getting a ton of these messages in my syslog: Jul 6 17:12:45 yggdrasil kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 3, frame# 780 Jul 6 17:12:50 yggdrasil kernel:

fellows, You can now commit to the trunk everything that is scheduled for 2.4 For my part, the november month will be mostly dedicated to the following: - commit the USB "improved maintenance" code. I'm about to finish that one, which allows to extract USB info and generate the various USB related files (hotplug, udev and hal). so the end of that bothering era ^_^ - complete &

USB hotplug; Packaging list gone? Working on OpenWrt Packaging, maybe more
Hi all, I've been working on updated packaging for NUT for OpenWrt.  Alioth says that there is no list at the link for the nut packaging list, so I guess this is where to send messages. I had opened https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/602 because of a user bug report on the OpenWrt NUT packaging (https://github.com/openwrt/packages/issues/6843) but it turns out to have been the
