tripplitesu driver fix
The 2.0.2+ tripplitesu drivers do not recognize SmartOnLine SU2200XL and
possibly other SmartOnLine UPSes.
Here is a one-line fix.

TrippLite SU3000XLCD
I'm having trouble with a TrippLite SU3000XLCD. I'm using a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian (wheezy) with NUT 2.6.4.
I can monitor my older TrippLite UPSs, mostly SU1000RT2Us, with this Pi and a USB to serial adapter.
My first thought with the SU3000XLCD was to use the USB port instead of the serial port as that's the "modern" thing to do. When I plugged the USB cable in

Constant "on battery" and "on line power" status changes
Good afternoon all,
I have a Tripp-Lite SmartOnline SU1500RTXL2ua UPS that I had previously tried
to get up and running with NUT earlier this year. Peter Selinger had been
working with this, but he had to devote time to more important things, and I
did too, so it got pushed to the back burner. I saw in the release
announcement of 2.2 that the UPS is now supported and decided I would try

Okay, okay! I'll go on the paper.
I'll reinstall chrony. But there *are* places I've needed to use nodeps. Mostly to manage

Hi Al,
I'm currently not much available, so I've fwded your mail to the nut list...
You might get more reactivity this way...

So I've built my first CentOS 7 host and am learning all the new ways of
doing things. I setup and enabled ntpd but after a reboot I get:
$ systemctl status ntpd
ntpd.service - Network Time Service
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/ntpd.service; enabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
After issuing:
$ systemctl start ntpd
Ntpd runs just fine. But why isn't it loading at boot

TrippLite USB UPS
Good afternoon,
I am trying to communicate with a new Tripp-Lite UPS via usb and having little
luck. After more than a week on this I've decided to ask for help. I am very
inexperienced at posting information to message boards, so hopefully I'm
doing this right. I assume this is the correct place to post this message.
I will start with the equipment I have. I am using Debian Sarge

SNMP/management front-ends
Hi,
I've been using TrippLite's PowerAlert software with my RM2200XL2U rack
system and my APC BackUPS desktop systems. Unfortunately it doesn't work
with openSUSE 10.2 (the software has problems with the serial port and UPS
interfaces on openSUSE 10.2), so I've been looking at other options. I see
that openSUSE 10.2 includes NUT, and it appears to work with my TrippLite
UPS via

Tripplite OMNI1000LCD Watchdog
Hello Nut Devs,
I'm working with usbhid-ups and a Tripplite OMNI1000LCD. I used a USB packet
sniffer to discover something cool about the watchdog feature in this unit.
(not sure if the other OMNI-X-LCD models work the same or not.) Basically
there's a single HID variable at Report ID 0x52
(UPS.OutletSystem.Outlet.ffff0092) that's one byte (0-255 int) and it
contains the Watchdog

Opteron Mobo Suggestions
I've been planning to build a dual Opteron server for awhile. I'd like
to get people's suggestions on a suitable motherboard.
I've looked at the Tyan K8SE (S2892) and K8SRE (S2891) but would like to
find more Linux-specific experiences with these boards.
Some features I expect are at least 4 SATA (SATA-300?) ports, serial
console support in the BIOS, USB 2.0 and IEEE-1394

Tripplite SmartPro Net 2200 driver
I am using NUT 2.0.2 on SuSE Linux 9.2 which is attached to a Tripplite
SmartPro Net 2200 UPS. I have Nut using the included tripplite driver,
and it is communicating with the UPS correctly.
The battery voltage of theTripplite reported by the NUT server is 13.5VDC.
If I attach the UPS to a Windows 2000 server running Tripplite's PowerAlert
software, the battery voltage is being reported as

RTL8111 Wiki Pages
Howdy,
It appears that CentOS 5.2's support for the RTL8111B/C chip is incomplete.
The wiki has some blanket statements regarding this support:

Question about Tripplite SU10KRT3U
Hello list! I can't seem to get this running via RS232 monitoring; I've
been told that NUT won't support serial connections, and find this hard
to verify. Does anyone else have this running on the SU10KRT3U via
RS232? If so, what driver did you use? I'm getting no satisfaction from
the "tripplite" driver; upon upsdrvctl start, I get "Failed to find UPS

Success and USB IDs for TrippLite SmartOnline SU1000RTXL2ua
Hi Matt,
first, note that Russell (Kroll) is retired for long.
Support request should go to the NUT Users list, which needs subscription.

5.1 Anaconda Install Error
I'm unable to install x86_64 on a host. The installer gets through the first
part, asking for install type and it begins loading the images from whatever
media was selected.
Then anaconda spills a series of cryptic messages ending in 'file not found'
and the console on F2 is locked up. I've tried this with physical DVD media,
PXE-HTTP and media-boot HTTP install. It happens

Tripplite SU1500RTXL2Ua and nut versions, battery line state fluctuates
I am trying to get a TrippLite SU1500RTXL2Ua working with nut on
Mandriva 2007.1, is there a particular version of nut needed to get this
to work? At first I tried nut 2.0.5 (which came with 2007.1) but it
wouldn't work, and then research showed it was an older version of nut.
So nut-2.2.1-2 src rpm was pulled from Mandriva 2008.1, the binary rpm
built, and nut and nut-server installed from
