ThinLTO Problem
Hi Teresa, Thanks for the detailed reply! > How are you creating your bitcode files? I create the bitcode with `-flto=thin -c` and sure it has a GLOBALVAL_SUMMARY_BLOCK. And there’s no RegularLTO partition only ThinLTO bicode. > Where is it aborting in the backend? It aborts at ` report_fatal_error("Failed to setup codegen")` in of codegen() of LTOBackend.cpp. And before that in

BitcodeReader.cpp bug under LTO
Hi Eli, Thanks for the advice! By delaying processing the "select" until we have resolved other records(like "aggregate " in this case) as you did for "shuffle", the test case passes now. But I wonder if it's an ultimate solution: what if the selector of a "select" is the output of another forward-reference "select" that hasn't been

BitcodeReader.cpp bug under LTO
Hi guys, We have found a bug of BitcodeReader.cpp in processing an LTO bitcode file. As LLVM doesn't emit use-list for LTO bitcode files, many forward references will happen when BitcodeReader processes the bitcode file, and LLVM uses placeholders for those forward references and resolve them later. When parseConstants() reads in a CST_CODE_CE_SELECT record, e.g. select

Use of array type in globals in LTO
Thanks for the test case! I can reproduce this, and see with the compiler I saved from just before r278338 that this is indeed a chance in behavior. Looking at why this changed... ThinLTO with Linux+ELF+Gold -- incorrectly dropping weak definitions.
This looks similar to the problem I fixed awhile back in r292408. I'll take a look (probably tomorrow since I am taking some vacation today). 答复: How to add new arch for llvm-cov show?
Hi vedant, The program didn't pass the checking "OF->getArch() != Triple(Arch).getArch()" loadBinaryFormat in CoverageMappingReader.cpp and returned an error. It's because "OF->getArch()" returned null and "Triple(Arch).getArch()" returned XXXX(name of my arch). The returned value of " OF->getArch()" is decided by "

答复: How to add new arch for llvm-cov show?
Hi vedant, 1. First, I think your theory is right that llvm’s object file reading libraries do not “understand” the architecture I’m working on. Since I’m using binutils as assembler which means llvm can only provide asm and object file is provided by biutils. I think these ELF header information is provided by my binutils now, so maybe I have to modify binutils code to provide ELF header

Hi vedant, 1. The definition is from llvm/Supprot/ELF.h. But this machine information(e_machine) is given to compiler at lib/MC/ELFObjectWriter.cpp. I greped the whole llvm project and found that e_machine was assigned at only two files. One was lib/MC/ELFObjectWriter.cpp(there was an comment said “e_machine=target”) and the other was tools/obj2yaml/elf2yaml.cpp(GDB stopped only at the

Assembly mimatch between windows and linux llvm.(probably caused by sort algorithm)
To whom it may concern, I'm running some testcases(A and B) in Linux LLVM(built in Ubuntu16.04) and Windows LLVM(built by Visual Studio 2015), both of which were LLVM 4.0.0 and built with same source codes, but I got different assembly files(A_Linux != A_Windows, B_Linux = B_Windows). Privacy reasons prevent me from sharing my testcases here, sorry. I compared debug information and found the

How data is laid out in default.profraw when doing profiling?
Hi all, I'm now working on llvm-cov for a new target and have a problem here. Because of some reasons, users do not stub in the main function and after running elf file, they cannot get a default profraw. Now they want to construct a default profraw manually but don't know how data is laid out in `default profraw` file. We found a struct ProfDataIOVec in InstrProfilingWriter.c in

How to add new arch for llvm-cov show?
Hi all, I'm trying to support llvm-cov for a new architecture and I have successfully built compiler-rt for my arch. Following steps shown in https://clang.llvm.org/docs/SourceBasedCodeCoverage.html , I encountered an error for the last step(step of llvm-cov show). The command line was (supposed my arch is XXXX) "llvm-cov show -arch=XXXX ./foo -instr-profile=foo.profdata" and the

RFC: Moving the module summary into the irsymtab
Hi all, I've been making a number of changes to the summary representation recently, and I wanted to lay out some of my plans so that folks are aware of my ultimate direction with this. Basically I want to move the summary into the irsymtab that we will be storing to disk after D32061 lands. This would help solve a number of problems: - To read a summary, you need to read all summaries in a

lld/lto/win32 crash on DIE code
It looks the problem lies in how your compiler generates debug info. LLVM doesn't expect DIDerivedType scope to be an instance of DICompileUnit. Here is a quick fix: DIE *DwarfUnit::getOrCreateContextDIE(const DIScope *Context) { - if (!Context || isa<DIFile>(Context)) + if (!Context || isa<DIFile>(Context) || isa<DICompileUnit>(Context)) However, I suggest talking to

lld/lto/win32 crash on DIE code
This one triggers an assertion in calculateSEHStateNumbers due to weird catchpad instruction in @_island_debug_invoke and many other functions. The code expects either pointer to a filter function or null in first operand, while you're passing pointer to structure: catchpad within %80 [{i8*, i8*}* anon..., ...] ________________________________________ От: Carlo Kok <ck at

how to estimate adding-regression GARCH Model
