[RFC][FileCheck] New option to negate check patterns
Thanks for the suggestions. I think the naming the whole line idea is okay, but it feels a bit clunky. Either we'd have to have a syntax that FileCheck would recognise without caring about the prefix (which seems to be against the ethos of FileCheck, and also makes it less flexible), or in the case I'm referring to, we'd have to have an extra line that does nothing other than define

[RFC][FileCheck] New option to negate check patterns

FileCheck: using numeric variable defined on same line with caveats
Any kind of variable definition on a CHECK-NOT line would seem like it would be asking for trouble. Do we allow text variable definitions on a NOT? False fails are better than false matches. Given that it will fail on a line where you'd expect a match, or possibly for the line to be skipped, it's a matter of refining the match expression, which is something that you have to do sometimes

[RFC][FileCheck] New option to negate check patterns
Hi all, There have been a few cases recently where I've noticed two test cases in the same lit test that do the same thing except invert the CHECK, to show that something is NOT present. I'm talking about something like the following: # RUN: llvm-sometool --print-string | FileCheck %s --check-prefix=STRING # RUN: llvm-sometool --no-print-string | FileCheck %s --check-prefix=NO-STRING #

ICE in release/9.x when using LLVM_ENABLE_MODULES
I ran into an LLVM/Clang crash when attempting to do the following: 1. Build Clang from the release/9.x branch source. 2. Use the Clang from (1) to build clangd on the release/9.x branch, with LLVM_ENABLE_MODULES=On. I wrote a script to reproduce the crash: https://gist.github.com/modocache/ac366ca9673b93bb21e75d3e72162608 At the above URL, you'll find a script `repro.sh` that reproduces

FileCheck: using numeric variable defined on same line with caveats
Before addressing the CHECK-NOT case, I’m still unclear about the DAG case. What should the first DAG line match? The regex matching would first attempt to match “10 12” but the expression evaluation would fail; so the DAG candidate wouldn’t match; does this mean the DAG matching does not continue searching, and the test fails? Or would we restart the search…. where? With “0 12” (skipping only

FileCheck idiom difficulties
Hi all, Many of our lit tests use FileCheck and a tool like llvm-readobj to check properties of a section header/symbol/etc. A typical (pseudoised for brevity) output to match against might be something like the following: Symbols [ Symbol { Name: foo Value: 0 Type: Function Section: .foo (1) } Symbol { Name: bar Value: 1 Type: Object Section: .foo (1) } ]

FileCheck: using numeric variable defined on same line with caveats
Hi, TL;DR: Is it ok to allow numeric variables used on same line as defined except for CHECK-NOT and with false negatives? FileCheck does not currently allow a numeric variable from being used on the same line they were defined. I have a tentative patch to add that support but it comes with caveats so before going through review I'd like to get consensus on whether those caveats are

[Job Ad] Open positions @ Graphcore
Graphcore is a well funded startup that is developing a new processor architecture for accelerating machine-learning applications. We are looking for talented engineers to build world-class development tools that fully exploit the computational capabilities of our architecture. Multiple roles are available - if you enjoy hacking on compilers, debuggers or linkers we would like to speak to you.

[Job Ad] Open positions @ Graphcore
Hi Jon, Job postings are ok on the llvm mailing list if and only if they are related to LLVM somehow. Please clarify if this is the case - or if not, please refrain from future posts. Thanks! -Chris > On Apr 12, 2018, at 3:11 AM, Jon Chesterfield via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > Graphcore is a well funded startup that is developing a new processor

Pre/post-increment addressing mode in LSR
Dear all, From what I can gather, there is currently no way for loop strength reduction to target pre- and post-increment addressing modes. This is because the target hook `isLegalAddressingMode` in TargetTransformInfo.h doesn’t allow for pre- and post-increment. There is in fact a comment to that effect on the function prototype: “TODO: handle pre/postinc as well” (see

donations / wishlist
Since some people don't like Paypal and other people have been telling me for years to create Amazon wishlist, I figured I'd finally do it. http://dovecot.org/donate.html now contains URL to the wishlist. Currently it mostly contains all kinds of TV series DVDs (feel free to laugh at what I watch :), but I also managed to remember a couple of books I wanted. -------------- next part

NEWS, WISHLIST, THANKS
I have NEWS, WISHLIST and THANKS files in the 'dyn' package in the same directory as the DESCRIPTION file but I noticed that they did not survive the move to CRAN, at least on Windows. How do I incorporate them so that they are not omitted?

How to add to EPEL wishlist?
Does anyone know how to submit wishes to the EPEL Wishlist here? http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL/WishList It reads "Immutable Page". They say: "Please add packages that are part of Fedora but lack a EPEL maintainer to this list", but there is no way to do that! They don't say if "Packages part of Fedora" means "Core" or it can be Extras too, but

Wishlist- Windows Gui (PR#10589)
Full_Name: Robert Baer Version: 2.6.1 OS: Windows XP Submission from: (NULL) (198.209.172.95) It would be wonderful if the CRAN mirror had an easy way to set a "default CRAN mirror". Current behavior is to have to choose a CRAN mirror the first time a package is installed in a session. The closest mirror site is always the same for me, and I wouldn't wish to change it unless it

Wishlist: simple legend options (PR#7400)
Hello! I was loooking in R-bugs and found under wishlist-fullfilled wish for "smart" placement of a legend. This has already been done in package gplots in function smartlegend. One question. This "bug-report" is under wishlist-fullfilled. Is it really fullfilled? Mail from Elizabeth --------------------------------------------------------------- It would be nice if

Paypal donation or Amazon wishlist for core team?
Is there any Paypal donation or Amazon wishlist for rails core team members? I know programming in Ruby & Rails should be reward enough, but its probably not a bad idea to let rails users express their appreciation in this way. -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

llvm-lit: 2>&1 and FileCheck
Hi all, quite a few tests use the pattern "2>&1 | FileCheck %s". AFAIK how stdout and stderr are merged into a single character stream is undefined and depends e.g. on whether stdout is buffered. I think we are often saved by the fact that standard output is written only at the end of the program and stderr is unbuffered, i.e. always written before stdout. A lot of tests disable

Wishlist: axis() and line widths (PR#7223)
Full_Name: Tom Short Version: 1.9.1 OS: Win2000 & Debian Submission from: (NULL) (64.65.255.41) WISHLIST: axis() has a default parameter of "lwd = 1". I want skinnier lines as the default. LDA Wishlist idea
Hi all, Sorry if this is out of place, but I've seen people suggesting future functionality for Dovecot on here before. TBH I'm not completely sure if this would be possible in a LDA. Demon (an ISP) have extensions to POP3 they call "SDPS" - there's basically an extra command that can be called for an email and it gives the envelope rcpt and from addresses. I was
