wbinfo problems and documentation questions
Hi all, I have a samba pdc running 3.0.20 + the patches on http://hostopia.samba.org/samba/patches running RHEL4 on an x86_64 platform. I have configured it to use an ldapsam backend per http://us2.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/2000users.html Since there is not much in the way of testing listed in the "2000users" section I used the tests listed under the making users happy

Problems connecting to APC/Smart-UPS 3000 RM
Hi all, I have an APC/Smart-UPS 3000 RM that I am trying to connect to nut via the usb port. I have nut running just fine on several other machines using APC ups's via the serial ports but this usb thing is making me crazy. If I do a "/sbin/newhidups -u root -D -a PS1" it recgonizes the ups and dumps a bunch of information like below: (porky pts12) # /sbin/newhidups -u root -D -D

newhidups, usb permissions and Debian
Hi all, I've tried installing NUT from both the Debian packages and the 2.0.4-pre1 source but I'm unable to sort out the USB permissions when using the newhidups driver and an APC XS series UPS. In each case, I'm able to run newhidups as user root but running it as user nut fails: --- as 'nut' # /lib/nut/newhidups -u nut -a apc1 Network UPS Tools: New USB/HID UPS driver 0.28

wbinfo problem
Hi all, I am trying to setup a samba pdc using the "making users happy" example from Samba-by-Example. Everything seems to check out fine except that I cannot get wbinfo -u to work. When I do wbinfo -g I get a list of the groups. If I do wbinfo -u I get the following: (pocono pts4) # wbinfo -u Error looking up domain users (pocono pts4) # I tried turning up the logging for samba but

newhidups... at last.
Hi Arnaud, hi all I wish you all the best for 2006. Enjoying of some less stressed time, I follow your advice, Arnaud, to switch our UPS management on the newhidups driver. ( Enfin ! ;) Our goal is to support (soon) the new MGE ASR ELLIPSE ( and of course also the old ELLIPSE and EXTREME models ). I rebuild the libusb-0.1.10a packages to conform to our installation process. I perform the same

NUT-2.0.5: newhidups on RedHat ES4
Hello everybody, After succeeded in "tuning" nut-2.0.0's hidups and 2.0.3's newhidups on customized Linux kernels, we are now facing a new challenge : trying to install nut-2.0.5 on a RedHat ES4 which is based on a 2.6.9 kernel. I picked up the 2.0.5 source package and follow the INSTALL doc until step 6. So far so good. RH ES4 is managed by udev, therefore I presume we

Powerware 3105 - SuSE 10.0
Hi, I'm trying to get a Powerware 3105 UPS working on SuSE 10.0. I have compiled nut from the current Subversion repository. This UPS uses the bcmxcp_usb driver. I cannot get the driver to find the ups on the USB bus. The error message I get is:- -------------- bcmxcp_usb -u nut -DDDDD -a pw3105 -------------------- Network UPS Tools - BCMXCP UPS driver 0.10 (2.1.0) debug level is

APC SmartUPS 1500 not working for newhidups and usbhid-ups
Hi, Can't get newhidups (2.0.5) or usbhid-ups (SVN trunk) to work 2.0.5 hidups seems to work, but I was hoping for more information... like temperature, etc. Tried newhidups and usbhid-ups, but they don't seem to detect my UPS... should I switch back to serial? Will I get more information? (trying not to move back to apcupsd, since i have a mixed environment) Here is some debug

newhidups: merged regex changes
I have gone ahead and merged the regex_branch with the main Development branch. Reason: recent renaming of files and moving around of code leads to conflicts between the branches that will be increasingly difficult to resolve. It is easier to merge now while the two branches are still relatively similar and most edits non-overlapping. The merge is between tags before_PSE_6 and after_PSE_6 on

newhidups fails only at boot
I can start the driver successfully manually, after the machine is up and running, but at boot time, it can't find my UPS. My init script makes sure that the usbfs is up (by checking for the existence of /proc/bus/usb/devices), and I can't think of what else could be different with the boot-time failure versus the manual startup after logging in. I'll include my configuration at the

newhidups: today's changes
Here is a summary of the changes I made to newhidups today (between the tags after_PSE_6 and after_PSE_9, roughly). * all the vendor-specific code that was in various "switch" statements has now been moved to the individual subdriver (apc-hid, mge-hid, belkin-hid) files. This also includes the vendor-specific Usage tables. In future, it should be quite easy to add new

newhidups and pollinterval
Gentlemen, As reported earlier, my UPS burps a lot of unsolicited interrupt messages. I have made some experiments with the UPS using newhidups directly, and noticed that the poll frequency of the dstate_poll_fds() calls in main.c can be heavily skewed by the timeout provided in the libusb_get_interrupt() call in libhid.c (currently 5 sec!). For a UPS that provides few interrupt messages, this

Re: about [ #302111 ] newhidups support for Belkin
I have checked in a cleaned-up version of patch #302111 (Belkin support) into CVS. See cvs diff -uN -r before_PSE_2 -r after_PSE_2 to check the difference. Here is the CHANGES entry: Tue Sep 13 20:50:14 UTC 2005 / Peter Selinger <selinger@users.sourceforge.net> - newhidups: added Belkin support. Also added some new variables and instant commands (some of these were already used by
