Setting llvm::TargetOptions::GuaranteedTailCallOpt in LTO Code Generation
Hi Dwight, Welcome to LLVM-dev! A few comments below. Cc'ing a few people who hopefully can add info on some of the specific issues here. Setting llvm::TargetOptions::GuaranteedTailCallOpt in LTO Code Generation
Hi Dwight Thanks for the feedback. For the issue you reported, there has been few reviews trying to tweak the -mllvm option when using legacy LTO interfaces (myself included) but it never got enough traction to moving forward. Note how -tailcallopt is implemented as a -mllvm flag means that it is a debug option and probably not well tested. The option is also not stable which means it can be

[LLVMdev] LLVM 3.3 JIT code speed
Hi, Our DSL LLVM IR emitted code (optimized with -O3 kind of IR ==> IR passes) runs slower when executed with the LLVM 3.3 JIT, compared to what we had with LLVM 3.1. What could be the reason? I tried to play with TargetOptions without any success… Here is the kind of code we use to allocate the JIT: EngineBuilder builder(fResult->fModule);

[configure] docdir option lost
Hi, While building dovecot-1.0.10 i've a trouble with --docdir configure option. It seems this option overload is "lost" during makefiles recurse generation (i didn't check others overload). Following are config.log and Makefiles cuts : ------------------- $ grep docdir dovecot-1.0.10/config.log dovecot-1.0.10/Makefile dovecot-1.0.10/doc/Makefile dovecot-1.0.10/doc/wiki/Makefile

[LLVMdev] ARM support status (GHC/ARM new calling convention)
Hello Cameron, thanks a lot for your fast answer, which just makes me curious if making ARM tailcalls on par with x86 in the future is on some of the development plans already? If not, then what do you think is the complexity of such work? Thanks! Karel On 06/17/11 10:41 PM, Cameron Zwarich wrote: > They work pretty well now, at least on Thumb2 / Darwin. [LLVMdev] ARM support status (GHC/ARM new calling convention)
I don't know if GuaranteedTailCallOpt is in anyone's plans. It might be a good idea to implement some time. I am not sure what GHC's exact needs are, though. any recent experience combining GlusterFS w/ Xen?
Hi Folks, Anybody have any recent experience building a small cluster that combines GlusterFS and Xen (with bonus points for a Debian environment)? We''re getting ready to shift from a 2-node Xen/Pacemaker/DRBD environment to a 4-node environment - and I''d really like to be able to create/migrate/failover/delete VMs transparently across all 4 nodes. Seems like Gluster might

[LLVMdev] [Mips][TargetOptions] How to properly instantiate TargetOptions in MC layer?
Hi all, we have several features in Mips that are dependent on target abi. A recent commit(r224492) introduced a new -target-abi option to TargetOptions struct that provides access to abi string. This info is stored in MCSubtarget class(ARMSubratget in this case) and distributed to other libraries. Unfortunately, for Mips we need this info in other classes that don't have access to MCSubtarget

[LLVMdev] [Mips][TargetOptions] How to properly instantiate TargetOptions in MC layer?
Hi Eric, as I was working on the same issues that are covered in your patch I also made a change in clang driver to pass this option to the assembler. Could you please review it and tell me your opinion? http://reviews.llvm.org/D6091 Thanks Vladimir ________________________________ From: Daniel Sanders Sent: Wednesday, January 28, 2015 8:59 PM To: Eric Christopher; Vladimir Medic; llvmdev at

wrong id for activerecord object when using :joins in mysql
I''m using a find with a :joins clause, like this: :joins => "JOIN table_b ON table_b.id=table_b_id" The records returned are used in a scaffold generated list page. The edit, show, and destroy links are getting the wrong id. They are getting the id of the table b record. When I run the query using mysql, I see that the query returns *2* id columns, the id of the main

Setting home path to a dir within a users Linux home dir
Is there a trick to append an additional directory level onto the defauly behavior of a [homes] share looking in /etc/passwd to find the users Linux home dir? It would offer a bit of protection if Windows clients ended up in say the WinHome directory within their Linux home directory when logging in from Windows so they are not tempted to tamper with their desktop settings files for Linux from

[LLVMdev] [Mips][TargetOptions] How to properly instantiate TargetOptions in MC layer?
Hi Eric, The main thing we need to fix is that the selection between ELF32/ELF64 needs to depend on the ABI being N64 and not on whether we used a mips-linux-gnu triple versus a mips64-linux-gnu triple. So 'clang -target mips-linux-gnu' -mips64r2 -mabi=64' should produce an ELF64 and 'clang -target mips64-linux-gnu -mips32r2 -mabi=32' should produce an ELF32. In terms of code,

error using R Commander for text file import
I am getting the following error on iMac running Mac OS 10.5.6; this occurs whenever I try to import a text file into R Commander: Error in splitCmd(command) : unbalanced quotes Thus, I am unable to import data into R Commander. Any suggestions as to how I might fix this error? I have gotten it many times with more than one installation of R 2.8.1 on this computer. Dwight Krehbiel Bethel

[LLVMdev] deglobalizing TargetOptions
I'm running LLVM under threadsanitizer (http://code.google.com/p/data-race-test/) to find and remove races in a larger program that uses LLVM as a library. One of the things that I found is that the TargetOptions are all global; you could create a TargetMachine targeting ARM and X86 in two threads, but they both have to share the same FloatABIType setting. This is silly, and I plan to fix it
