Docs: Testing locally but still getting buildbot errors with my commits.
Last night, I triggered a buildbot error after my most recent commit. That one was totally on me as the warning did pop up while generating the docs site locally using the sphinx-build command (confirmed this afternoon). I just checked in a commit to resolve the error but now it appears I've triggered a different buildbot error? This error did not come up when I built the site locally to test

Introduction and Question about Docs
Hi everyone. My name is DeForest Richards. I’m the technical writer who was selected to work on the LLVM project as part of the Google Season of Docs program. I’ll be helping to restructure the documentation page(s) to make it easier for new and existing users to navigate the LLVM docs. I’m currently reviewing the existing docs, so you’ll probably see me posting questions over the next several

Docs: Re-organizing the LLVM docs
As part of my Google Season of Docs project, I’ve been conducting a content audit of the LLVM docs. My goal is to identify specific categories and tasks under which the docs can be re-organized. One of my first suggestions will be to turn the main index (llvm.org/docs) into a landing page of sorts. Here’s an example of how the new index page might look: # Welcome/About * Introduction and

Status of RHEL docs for CentOS, questions
Yeah, my issue with Option 2 was that it doesn't reflow. We could get the same side-by-side effect while allowing reflow on smaller screens using CSS flexbox or grid, but I don't know how to do that in asciidoc. Sometimes sites just hand-craft the HTML of the landing page, but I don't want to make work for people. Also, we should consider how well these designs will work with three

Status of RHEL docs for CentOS, questions
Hi all, while Option 2 was my favorite as well and it looks great on wide screens, one concern is that it might not look as good on mobile devices. Since we had a sync-up call with Shaun last week, we added Option 4 which shows collapsible docs lists and categories under each major version. Hope that helps, Tomas On Fri, Mar 25, 2022 at 7:52 PM Amy Marrich <amy at redhat.com> wrote:

SVG and tooltips, hyperlinks
Dear all, is there a good way to create SVG plots with R whose elements have titles (tooltips) or act as hyperlinks? I am using the RSvgDevice package, which works great - but it doesn't seem to support the notion that plot objects have titles or are act as hyperlinks, so I am helping myself by giving the objects funny unique colors and then postprocessing the .svg file. I wonder

xtable html links
Hi, I was trying to get hyperlinks using xtable, but couldn't get the hyperlinks to function properly. For example, if I use ## Try to link NY times website to every figure in column 4 mat <- matrix(1:43,6,5) mat[,5] <- "http://nytimes.com" for(i in 1:nrow(mat)){ strr <- paste('<a href="', mat[i,5],'">', mat[i,4], '</a>',

Depot App Who Bought Enhancements
I''ve completed the chapter on Internationalization successfully, but found out just recently that the "Who Bought" function produces an error page that looks very ugly when someone enters a product ID that does not exist. My preference would be to design the app to have a list of hyperlinks presented when you visit the URL, http://localhost:3000/info/ that describes the list of

[CentOS-devel] [centos-artwork] Restructuring the website homepage layout
Alain, That looks great and the sections make sense as you've described them. As far as News and Events and Blog, I do think they're the same thing but I kind of like the idea of calling it News and Events vs Blog. [centos-artwork] Restructuring the website homepage layout
Hey folks, Could we have a talk about the website homepage layout? Here is a tentative sketch I am working on for the a new website theme: https://centos.gitlab.io/artwork/centos-web/jekyll-theme-centos-base/documentation/#the-page-basehome-layout In this layout: Are "News and Events" and "Blog Posts" redundant sections?? Hmisc-xtable label
Dear all: Does anybody know about label conflicts between xtable and Hmisc? I found a couple of e-mails similar to this problem but is not clear to me how to get around the label problem. The first table(longtable below) is generated with the latex function from Hmisc but for some reason when I try to hyperlink to it,it takes me to the top of the document. The second table created with the xtable

What's up with Firefox/Thundrebird
Hey All, Has anyone had trouble with Firefox/Thunderbird? When I log on if I start Thunderbird first then I can't start Firefox. Clicking on a link in an email fails to start Firefox. If I start Firefox before Thunderbird then hyperlinks in emails open a page in the existing Firefox instance. Other users on this same machine are having the same problems. This has been happening for that

Ruby at O''Reilly Rough Cuts
Not sure if this is old news or not, but it would appear that both the Ruby Cookbook and a Rails book are now available for purchase at O''Reilly Rough Cuts (something akin to PragProg''s beta book program): http://rubyurl.com/nHz http://my.safaribooksonline.com/?mode=roughcuts&srchtext=ROUGHCUTS I haven''t tried them yet, but it definitely seems worth checking out.
