[PATCH] Clarify escaping in wildcard patterns documentation
Hi, the attached patch IMHO improves the man page regarding use of the backslash as escape character in wildcard patterns. Thanks, Erik P.S. windows xp wildcard matching in cmd.exe (search pattern is changed to uppercase when using wildcards)
Hello! We probably have a Samba related Windows XP problem: When I start the cmd.exe shell, enter a samba share and call "dir" I can see (for example): a.java, b.java and c.JAVA But if I call "dir *.java", only c.JAVA is reported. A ethereal trace shows that Windows XP is sending "Search Pattern: \server\path\<.JAVA". That means that all letters have changed to

. (period): Wildcard match; matches one or more characters
Hi List; In the outbound, I read in the documents the Wildcard match "by using the . (period)", but I did not understand how Wildcard will work (like what)? As I know that Wildcard is a term used with the Diguim TDM card (FXO and FXS), so what is the relation between such cards and the matching in the dial plan? Any help? Regards Bilal

www.centos.org and the wildcard dns
hi guys, At the moment there is a www.centos.org site. There is also a wildcard dns setup that directs anything.centos.org to www.centos.org's content This has a couple of 'issues' with SEO and google sepcifically. The reason we have such low page rank is that google marks all of this as duplicate content. I am sure there are other search engines that do as well ( Bing has a

Alternative for wildcard gnu extension in Makevars
I have some cpp-files from another library (boost) in a subdirectory in my src directory (src/boost_src). I include these using the following two lines in my Makevars: SOURCES = $(wildcard *.cpp boost_src/*.cpp) OBJECTS = $(SOURCES:.cpp=.o) However, R CMD check complains about my use of 'wildcard'. How do I handle this without any gnu extensions? Thanks. Jan

Is it possible to define a function's arguments via a wildcard in 'substitute()'?
Dear List, just out of pure curiosity: is it possible to define a function via 'substitute()' such that the function's formal arguments are specified by a "wildcard" that is substituted when the expression is evaluated? Simple example: x.args <- formals("data.frame") x.body <- expression( out <- myArg + 100, return(out) ) expr <-

Wildcard X100P or TDM400P?
I'm looking to add a single FXO port to my Asterisk box. It looks like my options are a Digium Wildcard X100P off eBay for $6.99, or a Wildcard TDM400P with an FXO Module from Digium for $125. Can anyone explain the tradeoffs (other than the ability to put 4 FXO/FSO modules on the TDM400P). What about RTC for the system - I know the TDM400P provides it. Does the X100P? Thanks!

unexpected --exclude pattern behaviours with glob wildcards
Rsync version: rsync-2.5.6-3mdk (Mandrake 9.2) I see from the CVS log that some of the following awkwardness may be fixed (or at least different) in the next public release. I'm looking forward to that. In the interim, here are some problems: --------- Problem 1 - unexpected consequence of replacing / with ** --------- The following exclude works because the explicit slash causes a match

Windows Drivers for Wildcard FXO Card
And if you want to use it with windows telephony software, such as answering machine or modem communications software, you can probably take the drivers for the Intel MD3200 based modem, modify the .inf for the Digium vendor and device ID. I have not tried this, but since the MD3200 modem works that way in Linux, the X100P may work that way in Windows. Then you would have a $100 winmodem! Let

RFC8501 IPv6 Wildcard PTR
Per RFC 8501 seciont 2.2 https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc8501 I have attempted to use a wildcard on a /64 boundary within a zonefile for NSD, but it doesn't not appear to work. PTR lookups fail... tested with, ie: $ORIGIN 1.1.0.0.8.5.1.b.2.2.5.2.ip6.arpa. * PTR my.fqdn.net. Did not work... or would you have to use? (not tested) *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.* PTR .... --
