POWERDOWNFLAG Confusion..
Greetings..
Maybe someone could clear up a small confusion or uncertainty...
Reading the various files I got the first impression that the file
(??) that holds POWERDOWNFLAG variable would be either located in the
/etc/killpower directory or (using the info from the RedHat scripts
directory) the /etc/sysconfig.. but further reading and a bit of guess
and by golly..

upsmon.conf::POWERDOWNFLAG
?Hello everybody,
I've just noticed that POWERDOWNFLAG defaults to
/etc/killpower in upsmon.conf.
I believe that such files belong to the /run sub-tree.
Not only because it's not a config. file; mainly because
many embedded systems actually have most of the FS
read-only and have only the /tmp, /var and /run
writable...
Is there any particular reason to keep the file in /etc?
Thanks,

On the ups killpower via ethernet
Hello mailing list
I read in the snmp-ups manpage that this driver does not provide a
shutdown function because there will be no network at the point it is
called.
So I studied the Ubuntu initscripts, and in fact the network is killed in
/etc/rc0.d/S35networking
while the driver would be called at
/etc/rc0.d/S90halt
so this is correct...
however!
...disabling the S35networking seems a simple

NUT 2.0.4-4 - Debian stable - /etc/killpower not created?
Hello....
I'm testing the functionality of my NUT-setup (NUT 2.0.4-4 - Debian
stable). The system is connected to the UPS, but is not powered by it.
When running "upsmon -c fsd", upsmon says "Auto logout and shutdown
proceeding". This is all well and good, but I never see the machine
waiting for the UPS to cut the power. Instead it shuts down.
It's my

Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCD: powers off with /etc/killpower...then powers back on...
Hi Everyone,
I recently bought a Tripp-Lite SMART1500LCD for my Linux Mint 19.3 machine,
connected via a USB cable. I installed Nut 2.7.4 from the Mint package
repository via sudo apt update && sudo apt install nut. Everything works
great: NUT issues low battery warning when it reaches the set low
battery point and then issues shutdown commands...computer shuts
down..then the UPS shuts

Slow printing in batch?
For doumentation purposes I run a batch R program that does reshaping etc.
of data and finally prints things.
When I paste the code into an R-window everything runs in a few seconds,
but in Batch mode i get in the output file the result below.
Any clues why R uses 4 min to print a 1129\times 6 dataframe in batch mode?
The scrit I use to run R is:
c:\stat\r\%R_VERS%\bin\Rterm --no-restore

How to Simulate UPS on battery?
I've recently moved from installing NUT from source to installing NUT
from the FreeBSD package (FreeBSD 9.1).
One would think that I might have learned not to change anything, but I
made the change. And here is my tale of woe.....
My first question is: is it possible to simulate a "UPS is on battery"
state?
Some background:

[PATCH 0 of 4] Minios improvements for app development
This patch series contains a set of patches making minios rather easier
to use, from an application development point of view.
Overview of patches:
1 Command line argument parsing support, from Xen.
2 Weak console handler function.
3 Build system tweaks for application directories.
4 Trailing whitespace cleanup. (because it is very messy)
Patch 4 is likely to be more controversial than

We have had a server crash and are now unable to print from the connected pc's
I have installed samba 2.2.7a and use the sysv printing system
The printers are configured using HP hppi

I have already checked the spool directory for the printers. and the spool directory that is used by the hppi daemon. They exist.
