Lattice box percentile plot
Dear Nabble. I am trying to draw a box percentile plot with trellis using the panel in Hmisc. I really want to colour the plots in. I can alter several of features of the plot by changing the trellis par settings but I just can’t fill the shape in. Here is some example code which alters line colour and dot symbol: require(lattice) require(Hmisc)

boxplot.formula with missing values (PR#6846)
If an array has missing values in different rows, plotting using the formul= a=20 interface can produce errors. Example: fake.data <- matrix(rep(-100:100, 4), ncol =3D 4) par(mfrow =3D c(1,2)) boxplot(fake.data ~ col(fake.data)) abline(h =3D 0, lty =3D 2) boxplot(as.data.frame(fake.data)) abline(h =3D 0, lty =3D 2) ##### Add the missing data fake.data[190:200, 1] <-

View-Driven-Development by Behavior-Driven-Development and RSpec
One of the things that turned me on to BDD and RSpec was speccing views first, that the desired end would drive the development. In previous projects while using Test::Unit I would try to make educated guesses as to what would be needed in the model and controllers to derive the view without actually writing the view until afterwards. This is all because testing relied on each previous

Recommended minimal amount of free space to keep?
Hello. So, LVM is cool, having different partitions for different stuff is cool, and of course Ext4 is cool and *reliable*. So, we create some logical partitions and put ext4 on them, reserving LVM space for growing those partitions or even making new ones later. The thing is, I would like to keep every filesystem as small as it can be, but without degrading the performance too

With: > prop.table(Tesis.boostcv$confusion) I obtain the confusion matrix, but not the overall missclassification error. Thanks in advance, BSc. Re: Recommended minimal amount of free space to keep?
You will get better long- term performance if you don't fill the filesystems more than about 70% full. Above 90% you are permanently fragmenting the filesystem (depends on total size and workload also). There is the secondary issue that mke2fs can lay out the filesystem better if it is done right at the start rather than resize2fs doing it in small increments. I think as long as you are

Converting a Perl Array of Arrayrefs to an R array or matrix using RS Perl
Dear R/RS-Perl users, I have a perl script in which I parse a large number of files and construct an array of arrayrefs from the data in the files. I then pass that construct to R using the RS Perl interface. I want to be able to use the construct as an R array or matrix so that I can use the R function colSums. So far, I've tried constructing an R matrix with dummy values, and then

Colo*u*rs
Hi (Apart from the US spelling!) Is there a way of switching the colours off when plotting? I am only using an 8-bit display because I like to trade resolution given memory. With various windows open (ie Netscape and stuff up as well) I keep getting 'color allocation error' when all I want is a monochrome plot! I have tried setting rainbow(1,gamma=0) which returns #FFFFFF but it still

upsdrvctl shutdown, didn't, APC Back-UPS RS 1500
I did a test shutdown on a nut controlled UPS and it all went as expected except that when it got to: /usr/local/ups/bin/upsdrvctl shutdown Nothing happened. So the halt script went on and shut down the system. I waited a while but the UPS never turned itself off. Am I doing something wrong, or does this UPS not support this function? Thank you, David Mathog mathog at caltech.edu Manager,
