Coping with non-standard evaluation in R program analysis
Hi Evan, You may find some parts of what we are doing with genthat useful. Genthat is a tool for creating unit tests by recording argument and return values of calls. This is done by instrumentation of the source code. The git repo with the code is here https://github.com/PRL-PRG/genthat We don?t really deal with NSE though. It could be something worth thinking about for us. The contact for

Samba with Win2K client -- dual network cards -- same segment
Interesting note: I have a laptop with an integrated 802.11b interface, and a 10/100 interface. Normally, I use the 10/100 for the sake of speed, but occasionally I like to go for a walk with the unit. Basic services such as mail, web, etc. are basically unaffected (except in the area of throughput), but SMB goes into a FUNK! Trying to access my Samba server (2.2.6) over the wireless causes

printing a dataframe summary to disk
I'd like to write the summary of a dataframe to disk, so that it looks essentially the same as what you'd see on screen; but I can't seem to do it. Can someone tell me how? How to invoke the print method in MachineFunctionPass
Hello everyone. I'm looking for a way how to invoke the 'print(raw_ostream &OS, const Module *)' method in MachineFunctionPass. If we have a 'usual' pass, which can be used by the 'opt' tool, we can just pass the '-analyze' command line argument but what about the 'llc' compiler? As I can see, there is an implementation of the

multi-boot CD question
Hello everyone, I am attempting to add another boot option to our multi-boot technical resource CD where I work. I currently have 8 working floppy disk images, but this time I need to add a piece of software which I only have access to through an ISO image. This ISO image, when burned to a CD, boots and runs the software fine. I know that isolinux does not support booting ISO images. I used

[LLVMdev] prevents instruction-scheduler from interfereing instruction pair
Amara, first, thank you for answering. but I found expandPsuedo instructions actually happens before post-RA, like the following code showing: your approach is a little hacky, right? : ) // Expand pseudo instructions before second scheduling pass. addPass(&ExpandPostRAPseudosID); printAndVerify("After ExpandPostRAPseudos"); // Run pre-sched2 passes. if (addPreSched2())

convenience question
On: R 2.8.1 / Ms Windows / R-Gui-R-console I have a long-ish function, and to re-assure myself that it's actually making progress I've arranged a set of messages to the console (using cat). But what happens is that the messages don't actually display until the function has finished, which sort of negates the purpose. However, if I hit Return after starting the function, then all

makign help files by hand
Can someone tell me how to make up (eg) a library's html help files by hand? I think I ought to be able to use RCMD Rdconv for this but (R-2.10.0, MS-win) when I type (in a dos session) "rdcmd rdconv --help" I get a message to the effect that a perl script rdconv can't be opened. Can I do this from within R itself? And if so, how (in particular, what is the target file to

R2winbugs : vectorization
I'm new to bugs, so please bear with me. Can someone tell me if the following two models are doing the same thing? The reason I ask is that with the same data, the first (based on 4 separate coeffs a1--a4) takes about 50 secs, while the second (based on a vectorized form, a[]) takes about 300. The means are about the same, though R-hat's in the second version are quite a bit better.

arrays of lists in R ("cell arrays" in Matlab)
Dear all I would like to have some data in the form of a 2-dimensional array (matrix) of lists, so that I can easily find the desired list object by indexing the structure by rows and columns. In matlab there exists a data type called "cell array": a matrix of "cells", which are composite objects very similar to R lists. I know that in R you can create 1-dimensional

add intrinsic function support for customized backend
Hi, All, I want to add one intrinsic function for my particular backend. Let's say the intrinsic function is named "foo" which takes two i32 inputs and has one i32 output. First, I add this line "def int_foo : Intrinsic<[llvm_i32_ty], [llvm_i32_ty, llvm_i32_ty], [IntrReadArgMem]>;" in /include/llvm/IR/Intrinsics.td. Then, in my target/InstrInfo.td, I'm supposed

Coping with non-standard evaluation in R program analysis
Hello R experts, I plan to develop a tool for dynamic analysis of R programs. I would like to trace function calls at runtime, capturing argument and return values. Following a suggestion made some time ago on this list, my high-level implementation strategy is to rewrite the AST, augmenting call expressions with pre-call and post-call shims to capture the arguments and return value,

Restricting optimisation algorithm's parameter space
> I have a problem. I am using the NLME library to fit a non-linear model. There is a linear component to the model that has a couple parameter values that can only be positive (the coefficients are embedded in a sqrt). When I try and fit the model to data the search algorithm tries to see if a negative value for one of these parameter values will produce an optimal fit. When it does so,

[RFC] Tablegen-erated GlobalISel Combine Rules
...Continued from the other email Removing the defs section We can potentially infer quite a lot of the defs section but it requires both a complicated ruleset and that tblgen spends processing time doing the inferencing. That processing time is potentially significant for large combiners and for that reason we need to be careful not to let inferencing become a burden on tblgen. My main worry

Mapping a retained DILocalVariable back to its Function
Hi all, I'm dealing with LLVM's debug information metadata, and have run into an interesting edge case. Under normal circumstances, every `DILocalVariable` has a `User` in the form of the `llvm.dbg.*` intrinsic that produced it. Knowing this, I can go from `DILocalVariable` to `MetadataAsValue`, grab the users, and end up at the corresponding instruction + function. In some cases,
