[LLVMdev] Install Problem of Compiler-rt with Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop
Hi, All
I have tried to compile and install LLVM on windows 8 using Visual Studio
Express 2013 for Windows Desktop.
The compiling is fine. However, the installing gives the following errors:

Error in Windows build from release_40 branch
Hi,
I'm trying to do a build and install on Windows 10 with Visual Studio
2015 Community Edition for the X86 and ARM targets, from the current
release_40 branch. While compilation completes without error, the
INSTALL target fails with the following error:

LLVM fails to install with ocaml enabled
Hi,
I'm playing around with LLVM and stumbled upon this issue while while
performing "make install". The build itself was successful. I'm using
the latest git version.

Building LLVM with LLVM
Hi folks!
I'm trying to build LLVM with LLVM on Ubuntu using the commands below.
Building it with the GNU stuff (cpp, gcc, g++ and binutils packages) works,
but after removing it, moving LLVM to /usr/local and symlinking /usr/bin/ld
to ld.lld, I'm getting the following:
=== snip ===
-- The C compiler identification is Clang 8.0.1
-- The CXX compiler identification is Clang 8.0.1

I think you're right. Running "make ocaml_doc" then rerunning "make install" completed the

[LLVMdev] llvm trunk build failed in cmake_install.cmake on ARM platform
Hi dear list,
I tried to build llvm+clang on an OpenSuse BuildServer for ARM. The
build was carried out with CMake 2.8.11. In the installation step I got

[LLVMdev] how to opt -load on cygwin
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to load and run a pass on Cygwin target:
opt -load=mypass.dll -mypass
There is an LLVM example - Hello, however lib/Transforms/Makefile says
# No support for plugins on windows targets
and then excludes Hello from build
ifeq ($(HOST_OS), $(filter $(HOST_OS), Cygwin MingW Minix))
PARALLEL_DIRS := $(filter-out Hello, $(PARALLEL_DIRS))
endif

Hi Sergey,

you also have to use -hello on the opt command line in order to actually

[LLVMdev] trouble with cmake+ninja
Hi,
I was trying Ninja to build the LLVM sources. I am using cmake version
2.8.8, latest ninja from git and latest LLVM from git.
Here's what I tried:
$ cmake -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Debug -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=...
/path/to/src
$ ninja
$ ninja install
The installation aborted with the message below:

building hpa tftp under cygwin?
First-
I'm admittedly a newbie both to the cygwin environment and to the hpa tftp.
My apologies if this is the wrong list to ask this question. If so, slap me
around a little....
I tried to build tftp-hpa under cygwin. The 0.37 version throws errors
during the ./configure process, warning about winsock2.h and winsock.h being
present but not buildable.
The 0.36 version appears to

Building package under windows which links against a cygwin library
I am developing a package
(http://r-forge.r-project.org/projects/swfdevice/)?which links against
the ming C library. The package builds fine under Mac OS X and Linux.
I am really out of my element on windows, but I know there is a cygwin
package for libming.
My question is, does anyone have advice/examples on linking R packages
against cygwin libraries? Is this even possible? ?How would I go

[LLVMdev] llvm trunk build failed in cmake_install.cmake on ARM platform
We try to change cmake's behaviour so that it uses $ORIGIN in the rpath, making the binaries relocatable. That might be falling in here for some reason.

[LLVMdev] Building llvm and cfrontend under cygwin

Interesting. I don't have llvm/Debug/ after building "tools-only". Is
that a symlink? Do symlinks work under cygwin? (I run xp and both of my
partitions are ntfs)

Well. I have one idea. Could you please execute "sort --version" from
your cygwin shell and let me know, whether it's GNU one (it should
reply with the words "textutils") or windows-supplied one (it should
just give you and

[LLVMdev] Building llvm under cygwin
If you're building llvm-gcc4, you don't need the runtime libraries, so
I'd just stick with the "tools-only" build and declare success. If
you're building llvm-gcc3, I'd suggest you switch to llvm-gcc4 :)
However, the problem appears to be your PATH variable. In your path you
have the following directory: C:/Program Files/Microsoft DirectX SDK

Alright, I've got llvm and llvm-gcc from RELEASE_14 cvs and tried
building it under cygwin.
1) The first problem is with llvm in SysUtils.c:

I was wrong. There are some things looking very bad:
1. Line endings. CRLF mixed with CR. Also LF in the middle of the line
2. Two lines (around libLLVMTarget.a) looks merged together.
However, when I fix that problems i'm
