Create the GlobalVariable which have extern in one header file
I have changed it to ExternalLinkage. Now, in LLVM IR, it looks like that:
@DATA_TABLE = external global [0 x i8*], section "data_section", align 16 #0
@DATA_TABLE.1 = global [10 x i8*] [i8* inttoptr (i64 53415718 to i8*), i8* bitcast (void (%class.Hello*)* @_ZN5Hello5ptofnEv to i8*),...], section "data_section", align 16 #0
In my uses:
%arrayidx = getelementptr inbounds [0 x

[cfe-dev] Create a BlockAddress array from LLVM Pass
Sorry for emailing both group.
As I will have a constant array of BlockAddress, what type I should use in Constant Array for its ArrayType declaration?
I am creating the list in following way:
unsigned int nBr = fit->second.size();
llvm::Constant *listBA[nBr];
unsigned int Idx = 0;
for (std::set<llvm::BasicBlock *>::iterator it = fit->second.begin();
it != fit->second.end(); ++it)

Create a BlockAddress array from LLVM Pass
Hi
Good day. For the following function local static constant array:
static const __attribute__((used))
__attribute__((section("data"))) void *codetable[] = {
&&RETURN, &&INCREMENT, &&DECREMENT, &&DOUBLE, &&SWAPWORD};
I have the following in the LLVM IR.
@sampleCode.codetable = internal global [5 x i8*] [i8* blockaddress(@sampleCode, %19), i8*

Bernie, is it related to ARM pipeline? I'm interesting in this, is there
any other additional information?

[LLVMdev] ARM assembler's syntax in clang

It looks like you're using iOS. I'm not familiar with the exact
workings of that platform, but I think a similar message would occur
in ELF-land.
If iOS *is* comparable, your issue is that symbols in dynamically
loaded objects can't (usually) be referenced directly

[LLVMdev] LLVM linkage flags
An enumeration for the kinds of linkage for global values.
Hi, I'm currently writing a compiler that takes llvm-ir input. I'm a little
confused by the following linkage flags:

[LLVMdev] Disabling certain optimizations at -O1?
Could we move this setting to function attributes?
We already have OptimizeForSize / MinSize there, but not the other opt
levels. We also have OptimizeNone, which seems to be completely
unused.
This would let us support __attribute__((optimize())) in the future,
which is currently ignored.
Another example would be an LTO link of objects compiled with
different optimization settings. I'm not

TreeCtrl#get_item_data
Hi
I saw from the ChangeLog that [get|set]_client_data was removed from
ComboBox for 0.4.0 because the methods weren''t working properly.
TreeCtrl#get_item_data still seems to be there. I was wondering if
someone who understood the issue could say if TreeItemData might also be
afflicted with the same problems?
I seem to be segfaulting quite a bit (actually, on TreeEvt#get_item),
but it

[LLVMdev] ARM assembler's syntax in clang
Hi, Bernie, Thanks for your reply!
However, I still have problem by following edk2's code, my test code is
attached, what I want to do is build it as a dynamic lib. But I get error
from ld:
ld: illegal text-relocation to _data_table in table.o from foo in
use_table.o for architecture armv7
Do you have any suggestion to solve this? Thanks!

[LLVMdev] R_ARM_ABS32 disassembly with integrated-as
Attached is an example of how to reproduce the issue. It uses a C
file that happens to has a bunch of switch statements which are
encoded as jump tables, giving us data-in-code. Usage:
To build object files with clang via the -integrated-as versus via GCC:
$ export NDK_DIR=<my_ndk_dir>
$ export LLVM_DIR=<my_llvm_bin_dir>
$ make
To test that the generated objects contain the same

[LLVMdev] ARM assembler's syntax in clang
Hi Ashi,
Your first LDR is a pseudoinstruction that is supported by some tools (gas and armasm, at least), but not by LLVM. Roughly speaking, it turns into a PC-relative load from a literal pool.
To do what you're trying to achieve you can write your own literal pool in your assembly. You can see some examples of this sort of thing at

[LLVMdev] ARM/MC/ELF questions on .ARM.attributes section
Hi everyone, while looking at the ARMAsmPrinter::EmitStartofAsm
function, I realized that what looks like singular assembler
directives (.eabi_attribute) are in fact shorthand that needs to go in
to the .ARM.attributes section in the ELF file.
1. What is the preferred method in MC to jump back to a prior section
already defined? (Or is this not supported?)
2. It looks like the

Why does verifyFunction dislike this?
I am programmatically building some functions in intermediate
representation, and trying to verify them, but the verifier always reports
that there is a problem, and I can't see why. Minimal test case:

#pragma warning(disable : 4530)

DWARF Generator
I have recently been modifying the DWARF parser and have more patches planned and I want to be able to add unit tests that test the internal llvm DWARF APIs to ensure they continue to work and also validate the changes that I am making. There are not many DWARF unit tests other than very simple ones that test DWARF forms currently. I would like to expand this to include many more tests.

My example was a very crude example of simplicity. But the more
complex your application is, the simpler you want the compiler to be

[LLVMdev] RFC: ThinLTO Symbol Linkage and Renaming
As mentioned in the Updated ThinLTO RFC (
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2015-May/086211.html), I am
sending the symbol linkage and renaming required by ThinLTO as a separate
RFC. It is included below. I've also attached the doc in pdf form, since
the formatting (especially for the table at the end) may not come through
in the copied text below well.
