simple C function segfaults
Hello,
I use the simplest of examples that somebody can think
of in order to generate a matrix of random numbers
from within C, calling appropriate R functions. The
concrete example is below:
--- file pico.c
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <math.h>
#include <R.h>
#include <Rmath.h>
#define COLM( i, j, m ) ( m*j + i)

Maintaining specific order when using aggregate or change order on axis
Hi All,
I'm using the following code to produce some stacked bar graphs.

smbclient sees the virtual samba server but not the windows clients
Hello Again!
I now have a virtual host serving (almost) samba and a real one serving
samba under the original name.
On the local machine, I can access the the virtual host through smbclient
and smbmount. Everything seems all right. Unfortunately, the virtual host
won't serve the windows-9x machines. The virtual (and real) host both
appear on the network browse list but when the win clients

How to edit icecast.xml via SSH on Linux?
Hi,
I dont know if I got the question right. It is simply straight forward.
*) Connect to the machine with ssh
*) Use an editor like vi/pico/nano/joe
Example :
$vi /etc/icecast.xml
$pico /etc/icecast.xml
Hope I didn't oversimplify the question.
Have fun,
Midhun Kumar Allu.

Really small Linux and NAS
I have a really nice, old Libretto 110. Only 64Mb memory.
I want to put Linux on it and have a network monitoring system and a
traveling NAS.
But all of the NASs have seemed to have grown beyond their original 64Mb
size (FreeNAS now needs 128Mb).
Only thing I have found is:

Ellipse 750 USBS auto shutdown and NUT.
Hello,
I've installed & configured NUT 2.0.4 connected over a serial port to an MGE
USBS 750.
When the UPS enters the 'critical' state (ie, battery load below the defined
battery.charge.low AND power input off), the UPS just shutdown itself
instead of notifying NUT.
When I say the UPS just shutdown, I mean it autonomously shut down itself
within one second after reaching the

parallel computing with foreach()
I have used foreach() for parallel computing but in the current problem, it
is not working. Given the volume and type of the data involved in the
analysis, I will try to give below the complete code without reproducible
example.
In short, each R environment will draw a set of separate files, perform the
analysis and dump in separate folders.

Centos on the OQO Mod 2
I may be getting a couple of these for traveling servers (smaller than a
PICO-ITX system!).
Info is available for putting Ubuntu on it (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OQO), but what about Centos? Any help out
there?

Uso excesivo de CPU de RStudio
Hola Carlos,

Powerful enough to run a small asterisk server though not sure if the
drop down in size from a mini-atx or a micro-atx but I'm sure someone
will try.

FreeBSD rc.d scripts or shutdown howto?
Hello again.
After an hour of Googling and just not "getting" it, I figured I'd
call upon the list once more...
I am starting upsd, upsmon, etc in my FreeBSD's /etc/rc.local, because
it's easy. BUT... rc.shutdown seems kill off all those processes prior
to excuting my upsdrvctl shutdown command, thereby preventing any ups
communications and yup, the power don't get

While using the "plot" function against a model with a long formula,
I get a garbled label in the bottom of the plot. It looks like there are
two lines printed one over another, here's my example:

You do understand the redistribution issues with Java, correct?
It's a Sun problem (a typical thorn for Red Hat in general), not a Red Hat one.
