Greedy register allocator allocates live sub-register
Hi all, I've come across a problem with register allocation which I have been unable to track down the root cause of. 6728B %vreg304<def> = COPY %vreg278; VRF128:%vreg304,%vreg278 6736B %vreg302<def> = COPY %vreg278; VRF128:%vreg302,%vreg278 6752B %vreg278<def,tied1> = foo %vreg278<tied0>, %vreg277, 14, pred:1, pred:%noreg, 5; VRF128:%vreg278 VRF64_l:%vreg277 * bar

[SelectionDAG] Assertion due to MachineMemOperand flags difference.
Hello, I've hit an assertion in SelectionDAG where we try to merge 2 loads that have the same operands but their MMO flags differ. One is dereferenceable and one is not. I'm not sure what the underlying issue here is: 1) MDSDNode with the same operands should have the same flags set on their respective MMO. The fact the flags differ when the opcode, types, operands and address-space are

[LLVMdev] [3.7.0] Two late issues with cross compilation to mips
Thanks. This is making a lot more sense now and it's looking like this issue isn't Mips specific. Here's the IR dump before simple register coalescing (note: I've patched the IR printer to print the contents of the regmask): 4480B %vreg260<def> = LDC1 %vreg253, <cp#3>[TF=6]; mem:LD8[ConstantPool] AFGR64:%vreg260 GPR32:%vreg253 4496B %vreg261<def> = FMUL_D32

[LLVMdev] [3.7.0] Two late issues with cross compilation to mips
To reduce memory consumption clobbered registers are handled with RegisterMask machine operands which contain a bitset of all registers clobbered. - Matthias > On Jul 29, 2015, at 3:00 PM, Daniel Sanders <daniel.sanders at imgtec.com> wrote: > > I believe I've identified the problem with almabench but I haven't found the root cause in the compiler yet. > > The

how to type-legalize a dag
I have added new instructions to my target, unfortunately they are not being properly type legalized. The instructions I've added are a vector add, vector load and a vector store. Can anyone lend a hand on how to legalize them so that my target would be able to recognize them. Below is the output of llc with a -debug-only=isel. As you could see the output type for load, store, and add changes
