PW9120 - Shutdown condition?
Hello.
I have a PW9120 hooked up via a serial cable running NUT 2.0.4.
When running upsc I cant see any parameter that looks like it would trigger a shutdown. Theres is
nothing like "battery.charge.low: 30" or "battery.charge.warning: 30".
I get:
ambient.temperature
battery.(charge|runtime|voltage)
driver.(misc)
input.(misc)
output.(misc)

Can't make Smart-UPS 1500 shutdown over serial
Hi folks,
Today I installed nut on my Dell Poweredge 1800 server running Ubuntu
8.04 Server, with an APC Smart-UPS 1500 connected to it with the black
APC cable.
I used apt to install nut, upsd -v gives me
"Network UPS Tools upsd 2.2.1-"
I then copied and configured the config files.
Most of the setup seems OK; I get console messages for line power fail /
good, and I can do instant

Re: [nut-Patches][303751] Checking UPS Temperature
One disadvantage of handling it through a script is that is will not
be done by default. Most users probably don't know about the problem
of burning batteries, as it is not very common.
A potential problem with Eric Wilde's patch is that it is not general
enough; some UPS models have an boolean OVERHEAT flag although they
don't report the actual temperature. So the UPSOVERTEMP

I'm new to NUT in Windows, having problems with blazer_usb doing an UPS shutdown
Hello! I'm a total noob in the NUT world, and have 0 experience dealing
with Linux distributions. Since NUT is poorly ported to Windows it's
driving me crazy, I hope you can help me.
I have, after 3 days of painful reading, testing and failing, successfully
set up NUT to communicate with my cheap-ass line-interactive 1000VA Chinese
UPS (just no brand at all, it is a locally rebranded UPS,

SMP motherboard and temperature monitoring with /dev/io
Hello, I have an SMP motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW+) and I'm trying to monitor the temperature of the processor. The chipset for I/O control is Winbond W83627HF. When using any program for monitoring temperatures, I only get the temperature reading for the second processor. How do I get readings for both processors or only the first one ? TIA

RFI: recommendation for temperature monitoring
Good morning gurus,
I would like to get recommendation for monitoring temperature
for cpu using Asus P5WD2 motherboard and Intel D 820.
I my installation has CPU cooling system changed from Intel bulk to
Zalman CNPS9500 and it works. Normal Intel cooling system is not
enough and is overheating cpu quite badly. Unfortunately Zalman
has to be controlled (rpms) manually and thus I would like to see

upsmon/upssched on ups temperature
Hi All,
I was wondering what people are doing to shutdown their equipment based
on the temperature NUT grabs from a UPS? It doesn't appear that
upsmon(8) has an appropriate notify event for temperature levels.
For the time being, it looks like I'll write a simple perl wrapper
around upsc to get ups.temperature, but would love to use something
natively from NUT, if possible.
Also,

APC Smart-UPS 1500; system shutdown is not initiated.
Dear list,
I have an APC Smart-UPS 1500 hooked up via the USB port. Recently, when
we had a power outage, the only entry in the logs was:
Dec 3 14:43:43 afs1 upsmon[3035]: UPS apc at localhost on battery
and then the machine seems to have run until the battery was empty. It
only notices the "battery low" after I turn the system back on:

<Cyber Energy> <usbhid-ups/cps-hid.c>-Add HID Usage (Temperature)
Hi NUT:
We propose adding HID usage for "Temperature" to the NUT source code file cps-hid.c (driver: USBHID-UPS(8)<https://networkupstools.org/docs/man/usbhid-ups.html>) so that UPS temperature information can be displayed in the UPS status list. After conducting internal tests, we confirmed that inserting the following code:
{ "ups.temperature", 0, 0,

<Cyber Energy> <usbhid-ups/cps-hid.c>-Add HID Usage (Temperature)
Looks good.
Posted the PR as https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/pull/2711, code
base to test would be available at
https://github.com/jimklimov/nut/tree/cps-hid-temp currently or as part of
https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/tree/master after the pull request
passes our CI and gets merged.
Thanks,

Some questions on driver implementation and variable names
I've just written an NUT driver to manage a Masterguard UPS connected
via USB, and some questions arose.
Why I wrote a new driver? The servers in question only have two
serial ports, so I want to use USB. I first wrote the low-level USB
routines expecting to integrate them into the existing masterguard
driver. However, that driver was so rudimentary I wrote my own one.
It can be

How to shutdown the system and put UPS in stayoff status rather than in return status
- OS name and version: Ubuntu 12.04
- exact NUT version: 2.6.3
- NUT installation method: from Ubuntu package "nut 2.6.3-1ubuntu1.1"
- exact device name and related information: AtlantisLand Host Power
851 (A03-HP851 rev.1.1)
- driver: blazer_usb
I have no problems with the operation of NUT.
My only problem is that I would like to change the behavior of the NUT
driver

testing for temperature differences between years and sites?
Hello!
I have a dataset with monthly temperatures for 4 different years and I would
like to test if they are significantly different between the years. As I
collected the data for different sites I wondered if there were some
possibility to perform the calculation at once or if I have to repeat it for
each site.
I tried like this:
