usbhid-ups: shutdown testing needed
To people with APC, CyberPower, Belkin and TrippLite UPS'es and using
the 'usbhid-ups' driver.
There are some concerns that the usbhid-ups driver is not acting as it
is supposed to do. Could you run the following command (as root and with
the mains plugged) and check if the UPS powers back on automatically?
upsmon -c fsd
I think we should *not* release nut-2.2.1 if we're not

MGE Ellipse 800 shutdown problems - using upsmon NOTIFYCMD
upsmon.conf using NOTIFCMD and NOTIFYFLG is working well, it is calling my
script "notify" on requested events (ONBATTERY,LOWBATTERY and ONLINE).
Command
#upsmon -c fsd -u monmaster myups at localhost
gracefully shutdown my box and after several seconds switch off the ups's
load.
Two problems:
- notify script is called and executed as user "nut" (as it used to be

Unresolved variable in `libupsclient-config'
Tags: patch, upstream
Hi,
when configuring nut 2.2.0 the variable/symbol `@SSL_LDFLAGS@' is not
resolved by the libupsclient-config script. The attached patch changes
`@SSL_CFLAGS@' to `@LIBSSL_CFLAGS@'
`@SSL_LDFLAGS@' to `@LIBSSL_LDFLAGS@'
which should solve this issue.

Nut fsd command ignored: bcmxcp_usb driver, Powerware 5105 UPS
Hi
I'm having a problem with the bcmxcp_usb driver FSD command: everything
seems to work apart from:
upsmon -c fsd
Environment: Ubuntu 7.04, nut 2.0.5-1, nut-usb 2.0.5-1, Powerware 3105
UPS.
upsd appears to send the FSD command to the UPS, upsmon then runs my
NOTIFYCMD (which halts my PC) but the UPS just doesn't turn off.
Here are the /var/log/daemon.log entries:

bye!
Dear fellow NUT developers,
after almost exactly two years as a NUT developer, I have concluded
that this would be a good time to retire from active development.
The project is in good shape, and the driver I was most involved with
(usbhid-ups) is in better condition than ever, due to the excellent
recent work of Arjen de Korte.
Having already scaled back my activity for the last 6 months, I

MGE Ellipse USB cable config ?
Hi everyone,
This is not directly NUT related, but i don't know where else I can
still ask this.
I have been using a pretty decent 2nd hand MGE ellipse premium 1200VA
for a while now at home. http://www.mgeups.com/download/doc_intl/
small/premium/389uk.pdf
It's been working very well for me on linux, but my linux server has
recently passed away and now I only have Macs left.

Configure script not recognizing NET-SNMP
Hello.
I'm trying to install NUT 2.2.0 stable.
The configure script isn't recognizing my NET-SNMP installation. It
exits with a "configure: error: "Net-SNMP libraries not found,
required for SNMP drivers"
I'm running Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit with NET-SNMP 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 and
NET-SNMP daemon 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 along with libsnmp9 5.2.3-4ubuntu1 and
libsnmp-base 5.2.3-4ubuntu1.

This flag is defined on p.36 of the "Universal Serial Bus Usage Tables
for HID Power Devices", Release 1.0 November 1, 1997, a USB standards
document available on the web.

Liebert PSA1500 and Ubuntu 10.04 and NUT
Hi,
Does anyone have a similar configuration or have used the same model
with Ubuntu before with success?
Strange my system can't seem to detect the UPS and I can see
usbhid 2-1.1:1.0: couldn't find an input interrupt endpoint
in dmesg when I plug in the UPS.
Hope can share your experience on this.

early shutdown of VMware VMs
I'm new to NUT, but didn't find a clear answer to this either in the
recent "ordered shutdown" thread or in Google:
How to shut down VMWare guest virtual machines earlier than the host
machine they run on? (For example, if everything normally shuts down at
5% UPS battery, then the VMs should shut down at 10%.)
I also read upssched.txt but I can't tell from the early

Using MGE UPS's with NUT and openSUSE
Dear List, I thought it might be useful if I wrote up my notes on getting
an MGE UPS to work with NUT and openSUSE.
The MGE UPS (an Ellipse 1500 USB) will work well with NUT and openSUSE
10.2, but not "out-of-the-box": there are some things you need to do:
Intro. MGE have built rpms of NUT which greatly simplify installation.
Merci MGE. I used the rpm's for nut-2.0.5 and the

Setting up Apollo Line Interactive UPS on Ubuntu
Hi
Having followed this guide:
http://blog.shadypixel.com/monitoring-a-ups-with-nut-on-debian-or-ubuntu-linux/and
seeing support for Apollo UPSes mentioned on the compatibility list
(genericups, type=4) I tried to set up Nut as follows.
OS: Ubuntu Server 12.04
Nut: 2.6.3 (I believe - from Ubuntu repos)
ups.conf:

Call to funding NUT infrastructure
Dear NUT Community,
It's not something you've been used to from me, but...
I've been funding the NUT infrastructure on my own for many years now.
I'm currently in a situation that is a bit hard, financially speaking.
I've recently renewed the networkupstools.org domain name.
But now comes the server in itself (BaseInstance Cloud slice on Gandi).
It's not that many bucks
