[PATCH] ia64: Fix shared build
We need to build with -mno-pic to disable all uses of GP, as well as use a custom linker script to avoid collisions between klibc.so's and the executable's segments. Filename's in DIBuileder
Hi All , We have a scenario in our debugger to handle the file index in the debug_ine info like $llvm-dwarfdump -debug-line test.o file_names[ 1]: name: "test.cpp" dir_index: 0 mod_time: 0x00000000 length: 0x00000000 file_names[ 2]: name: "test.cpp" dir_index: 1 mod_time: 0x00000000 length: 0x00000000

Try using $PWD/test.cpp on the clang command line. I am seeing the duplicate DIFile entries, but not yet able to reproduce a .debug_line section with multiple directory entries. --paulr From: llvm-dev <llvm-dev-bounces at lists.llvm.org> On Behalf Of Tomar, Sourabh Singh via llvm-dev Sent: Tuesday, September 1, 2020 1:07 PM To: Umesh Kalappa <umesh.kalappa0 at gmail.com>; cfe-dev at

lld extra program headers
Hello all, The lld linker appears to generate extra ELF program headers and thus causes file sizes to be significantly larger than what would get with ld.gold or ld.bfd. # readelf -l test.bfd Elf file type is EXEC (Executable file) Entry point 0x4000b0 There are 2 program headers, starting at offset 64 Program Headers: Type Offset VirtAddr PhysAddr

FW: Internal DNS migrate to Bind9_DLZ
Hai,   I've checked out the log you send and i re-read the complete thread.   Based on thats done and what i did see in you logs now, looks like a  * (wildcard)  entry is giving the problem. But i am not sure of that, the wildcard bugs should be fixed, when i look in bugzilla.  (#10435 #12952 )   I've forwarded the mail to Rowland also before we go throw things at you again. ;-)

ASAN not finding any bugs?
Hello, I am building sanitizers for our different platforms and trying to use it in an example program, but while it seems like ASAN is running it's init functions (see stdout below with ASAN_OPTIONS=verbosity=1) it never catches anything in the program. This is LLVM 8.0.1 btw. I was using this small test case: int main(int argc, char** argv) { int *array = new int[100]; delete []

ASAN not finding any bugs?
Hello Alex, Thanks for the hint. It was actually not the -O flag that created the problem. But it pointed me in the right direction, when I passed -fno-experimental-new-pass-manager it started to show the error. My guess is that the new pass manager is more aggressive in removing UB? [PATCH 1 of 1] x86_64: Put .note.* sections into a PT_NOTE segment in vmlinux
This patch updates x86_64 linker script to pack any .note.* sections into a PT_NOTE segment in the output file. To do this, we tell ld that we need a PT_NOTE segment. This requires us to start explicitly mapping sections to segments, so we also need to explicitly create PT_LOAD segments for text and data, and map the sections to them appropriately. Fortunately, each section will default to its

ZFS panic when trying to import pool
I have a raid-z zfs filesystem with 3 disks. The disk was starting have read and write errors. The disks was so bad that I started to have trans_err. The server lock up and the server was reset. Then now when trying to import the pool the system panic. I installed the last Recommend on my Solaris U3 and also install the last Kernel patch (120011-14). But still when trying to do zpool import

Assertion triggered when running simple hello-world code on iOS device using ORC/LLLazyJIT
Hi Dave, Yep. This is JITLink specific, so we could only have observed it on MachO x86-64 or arm64 until recently. It takes a little bit of poking to get IR to produce a zero-lengh section on MachO, but not much. Jared Wyles recently contributed an initial JITLink ELF implementation, so the fix seems timely -- we might have been about to see more of it. -- Lang. On Fri, Jun 19, 2020 at 4:02 PM

RFC: Linker feature for automatically partitioning a program into multiple binaries
Hi folks, I'd like to propose adding a feature to ELF lld for automatically partitioning a program into multiple binaries. (This will also involve adding a feature to clang, so I've cc'd cfe-dev as well.) == Problem statement == Embedded devices such as cell phones, especially lower end devices, are typically highly resource constrained. Users of cell phone applications must pay a
