MGE Ellipse 800 shutdown problems - using upsmon NOTIFYCMD
upsmon.conf using NOTIFCMD and NOTIFYFLG is working well, it is calling my
script "notify" on requested events (ONBATTERY,LOWBATTERY and ONLINE).
Command
#upsmon -c fsd -u monmaster myups at localhost
gracefully shutdown my box and after several seconds switch off the ups's
load.
Two problems:
- notify script is called and executed as user "nut" (as it used to be

courier to dovecot migration
I have a quite old home server based on Debian 6.x packages using courier
imap server (exim4, fetchmail, courier, apache2, squirrelmail) to keep my
and my wife emails (about 25G).
I want renew my server to Debian 10 (buster) and got a recommendation to
use dovecot instead of courier. For this purpose I'm using a different PC
as a sandbox. Debian 10 currently offer dovecot version 2.3.4.1

Stopping Machine powering off
Well I just need to monitor the UPS battery for testing and I do about 10 UPS's a day. So having to restart my computer every time gets old real quick.

symlink on Linux vs. Windows clients
I'm using SAMBA for many years, in my SOHO - I'm quite satisfied.
One small question is up every time when I'm creating a symlink on the
SAMBA server box from a share to point to a moint point for example
/mnt/some_block_device (of course read/writable for particular user),
windows cleanly "see" it, as a directory entry - I c?an copy/remove do
everything what could be done on

What do your configuration files look like? Setting MINSUPPLIES to 2 should work. You can run upsmon with a debug level of 3 or greater, and it will print the current and minimum "power value", which is what determines

Master privileges unavailable on UPS
Hello all,
I'm having problems with what I'm told should be a straightforward
issue.
The message in /var/log/daemon is:

Thanks for quick response!
I realized this and forget this setting!
For now I think that my box does not recognize signal about low battery -
I'm only started to read SHUT

I think the "2"s here should be "1".
"powervalue is an integer representing the number of power supplies that the UPS feeds *on this system*."
So if UPS_251 is connected to one power supply on

Debian 10 nut 2.7.4-8 and APC Back UPS 600i on 940-0020B
Dir list!
I'm using nut for many years on my home "server" without problems running
on Debian 6.x nut version 2.4.3
Now I have decided to move to Debian 10. I have started from zero and
install new system on a different disk. I have successfully installed new
nut version 2.7.4
I've found one issue, that new version see always "low battery" state.
