COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Some time ago I posted here regarding a relocation overflow on Windows
(among other things), but the issue disappeared and so the thread got left.
I've started this new thread because a) I didn't want to necro the old one
and b) it felt like its own.
I've now encountered the issue again and am noting down all the information
I can get about it whilst it's happening.
The issues is

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Thanks Andy, helpful as always!
1 is a possibility, but not ideal for us.
Could you elaborate a little on 3? I don't really know what a jump stub is,
but am guessing it's a kind of "alternative symbol" which would just act as
a middle man to invoke the "real" symbol in the static library.
If that's the case, I can think of a way to implement it for specific

First of all, thanks very much to Lang for fixing the BSS section bug; works like a charm!
I’ve been unable to reproduce the 32 bit relocation on 64 bit code (I’ll let you know if I do). However, I’m still having issues with resolving the 64 bit symbol relocations. In case it’s relevant, the specific symbol my program is tripping up on is IID_IOleObject, where TargetAddress is dereferenced

RuntimeDyLdCOFF and RTTI on Windows
HI Stefan,
CC'ing Reid Kleckner, who might have some insight here, and llvm-dev as
this may be of interest to other windows JIT users.
I am facing the issue that C++ dynamic_cast doesn't work for types

That's great news, thanks! If I can be of any help, let me know. :)
I'll see if I can reduce the example for the relocation issue whilst you're
at it.
Regards,
Joshua

[LLVMdev] Windows C++ ABI: Reverse Engineering Articles (FYI)
This is only of interest to those who are working on implementing support
for the Microsoft Visual C++ ABI:
http://www.openrce.org/articles/full_view/21
http://www.openrce.org/articles/full_view/23
The first details the implementation of Microsoft's exception handling,
whereas the other looks at classes, methods, and RTTI.

decoding vorbis bytes into floats
I would like to program a basic OGG decoder that takes in an array of
bytes (unsigned char *) and return an array of floats. Presumably I
could then pass these floats to be read as PCM data which can be
immediately interpreted as audio (by Unity3D). The starting point would
be the header of an icecast stream (I know I'm not in the icecast
mailing-list, but that is only the basic starting

ogg audio streaming problem
Hi,guys
Hope you are doing well!
I am an ogg format starter, and I am implementing ogg audio streaming.
I meet some problems for streaming.
My application is as follows:
I send download request to server, and server sends the download ogg file to
client side.
when a certain amount of data is downloaded, and I start to play the ogg
file by using a library.
I use juce c++ library which uses

RuntimeDyLdCOFF and RTTI on Windows
I have a similar build tree to what you describe on Windows, but I get this:
$ clang -c -emit-llvm repro_input.cpp -std=c++11 -o t.bc
$ lli t.bc
LLVM ERROR: Program used external function '??_7type_info@@6B@' which could
not be resolved!
It looks like people have already reported similar issues. Have you done
anything to get past this kind of problem?

[Vorbis-dev] Zero length reported.
Okay - so I stepped through the code slowly this morning making notes as I went.
And I can see what’s wrong. The last Ogg header of the troublesome file contains -1 as the granule position. The spec says this has a special meaning "A special value of '-1' (in two's complement) indicates that no packets finish on this page."

Incorrect code generation when using -fprofile-generate on code which contains exception handling (Windows target)
I think this is the same underlying issue as https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40320. CCing Reid, who's had a bunch of thoughts on this in the past.

State of GPLPV and Windows 8
What is the state of GPLPV and Windows 8? I am currently running tests
with Windows 8 and GPLPV rev956 and operations (disk IO, net IO) look
good. There seems to be a problem with shutdown/reboot where Windows
hangs somewhat and displays a warning about improper shutdown on next
reboot.

Incorrect code generation when using -fprofile-generate on code which contains exception handling (Windows target)
I think the simplest, most complete, short term fix, would be to call
llvm::colorEHFunclets, and to have the relevant instrumentation passes
apply the appropriate funclet bundle when inserting function calls. It's
not elegant because it means every simple instrumentation pass that inserts
regular function calls (ASan, TSan, MSan, instrprof, etc) needs to be
funclet-aware. But, it will work,
