Indeed! It seems that the people relying on our apt service wouldn't bother much where we move it to. So, I'm ok with any solution that replaces the functionality.

Broken rsync mirroring for PuppetLabs APT repo
Hi, I have sent this mail to info@puppetlabs.com and received no answer, so I''m posting here as well; I hope somebody at PuppetLabs will be able to help. I have a local mirror of apt.puppetlabs.com which has been broken for at least a few days: the apt/dists/ subdirectory only contains symlinks to non-existent files. [mirror@excellent dists]$ ls -l total 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 mirror mirror 29

IMPORTANT: APT repo temporary switched off
TL;DR: APT repo switched off due to excessive load / traffic Recently we realized that APT repo generates almost 95% of I/O on llvm.org and more than 40% of network bandwidth alone. During last 2 weeks the main services on llvm.org (svn, git, bugzilla) had serious problems with overall connectivity. We decided to temporary switch APT repo off to see if this would help. Stay tuned for updates.

residuals in lme4 package
Hi, I have not been able to calculate residuals in the lme4 package. I've been trying the resid() function after I ran a GLMM with the lmer() function, but I get an error message that says "residuals are not inserted yet". I looked it up in the "help" history and I realized that several people have had this problem in the past, related to some bug in this function and

ldap authentication without 'ldap filter' parameter
Hello I'm trying to update samba from 3.0.11 to 3.0.21 and I noticed that the 'ldap filter' paramater has been removed. After some search, I read that I have to configure nss_ldap. But I don't know how to configure it properly to operate with our LDAP database. Let me explain : We used the 'ldap filter' parameter like this : ldap filter =

Root cannot delete files through samba share
Dear, We are integrating Samba with Active Directory in the company. The goal is to provide a samba share to users of AD. In this case, we need all users to write on the share, but nobody modify or delete any files. Even the user who owns it. With this, we would create only one AD user, if necessary with root powers, which could erase everything. For this, we test several lines, such as

How to disable NTLM authentication on Samba
Forgive me if I have misundertood your words, but what I want is to prevent Samba from accepting NTLM(v1, v2, SSP, or whatever) and forwarding it, since SSSD does not support it. I am not trying to get SSSD to support any kind of NTLM. So, this would be a Samba issue, not SSSD's. Isn't that correct? Putting it in another words: what can I do (preferrably on the Samba server) to prevent
