NUT-2.0.3 - problems on setting values
Hello, we have a MGE Pulsar Evolution 800 connected to a Fedora Core5 Server using a serial cable. Installed and configured properly are RPM versions of nut-2.0.3-0.1.fc5 nut-client-2.0.3-0.1.fc5 nut-cgi-2.0.3-0.1.fc5 which all work (mostly) fine. The server is connected to outlet.0 and properly shuts down when it's loosing power after around 20 minutes. It also boots up whenever the ups

New UPS Support: Eaton 5S 1000
Oops... changing that to --with-user=nut solved one problem. I have the driver, upsd and upsmon running now. Thank you! Now I'm back to another issue, every 2 seconds I get in the logs: May 3 13:45:23 myhost upsd[2587]: Connected to UPS [eaton]: usbhid-ups-eaton It seems happy to do this forever. MGE ellipse 1200 config and documentation
Hi, I have recently purchased MGE ellipse 1200 UPS for my home system. Obviously, the choice of this particular brand was mainly dictated by MGE's long-standing support for Linux and NUT project. The fact that the box was clearly the prettiest looking one on the block did help also ;-). I have had NUT tools installed and configured in no time, as I did it numerous times before -- kudos

Q about UPS features / NUT support
Hi, I have several Linux machines at home and I'm considering buying a UPS for them. I see that many models are supported by NUT (great!) but since I'm new to the UPS world I have some questions about UPS features and NUT support of them I couldn't find an answer for: 1/ are there UPS models who report/meter power usage through USB? per UPS socket or globally? 2/ are there UPS models

Setting MGE powershare attributes
Hi! We have two MGE Evolution 1100 here, and I want to make use of the powershare outlets to force a particular boot sequence on the machines powered by them. However I'm not sure how to set those variables upon NUT starting, without having to change the init scripts to call "upsrw". Is there some place where I can set them, where they can be read automatically on startup? One of

MGE Ellipse 800 shutdown problems - using upsmon NOTIFYCMD
upsmon.conf using NOTIFCMD and NOTIFYFLG is working well, it is calling my script "notify" on requested events (ONBATTERY,LOWBATTERY and ONLINE). Command #upsmon -c fsd -u monmaster myups at localhost gracefully shutdown my box and after several seconds switch off the ups's load. Two problems: - notify script is called and executed as user "nut" (as it used to be

newhidups with APC Smart-UPS 1500
I tested your fix (newhidups -DDD /dev/null) using both and APC Back-UPS 350 an APC Smart-UPS RT 2000 XL. MGE Pulsar Extreme communication problems
Hi, I am trying to talk to an MGE Pulsar Extreme UPS over RS232 with the mge-shut driver but I'm having some problems. It appears to init OK but I can't, say, turn the outlets off, eg.. harrow:~>upsc mge@localhost battery.charge: 78 battery.charge.low: 20 battery.runtime: 05760 driver.name: mge-shut driver.parameter.port: /dev/cuad1 driver.version: 2.0.3 driver.version.internal: 0.65

Porting samba setup to backup server
I must set up a backup server for failover and have used tdbbackup to create backup files from the functioning primary server. I then copied the files to the backup server and used tdbbackup to restore all the databases, along with copying the smb.conf and other text files from /etc/samba. This does not seem to work and I was hoping someone could assist. Primary server is RHEL 5.4 with Samba

e2fsprogs and ext3
One of my servers appears to have some filesystem corruption. I'm running Red Hat 6.2 with kernel 2.2.19pre6 and ext3 0.5e. That server currently has e2fsprogs-1.20-WIP-0117 installed. Is it OK to upgrade to the latest e2fsprogs (i.e.: 1.22) prior to running the e2fsck on the filesystem? --Shawn

MGE Ellipse USB cable config ?
Hi everyone, This is not directly NUT related, but i don't know where else I can still ask this. I have been using a pretty decent 2nd hand MGE ellipse premium 1200VA for a while now at home. http://www.mgeups.com/download/doc_intl/ small/premium/389uk.pdf It's been working very well for me on linux, but my linux server has recently passed away and now I only have Macs left.

NUT-2.0.5: newhidups on RedHat ES4
Hello everybody, After succeeded in "tuning" nut-2.0.0's hidups and 2.0.3's newhidups on customized Linux kernels, we are now facing a new challenge : trying to install nut-2.0.5 on a RedHat ES4 which is based on a 2.6.9 kernel. I picked up the 2.0.5 source package and follow the INSTALL doc until step 6. So far so good. RH ES4 is managed by udev, therefore I presume we

MGE Pulsar STS
Hello, I'm trying to communicate with a MGE Pulsar STS 16 using nut under Linux, but I've had no luck so far. I haven't saw it supported in the doc, so if there's anything I can try... Thanks, Arnaud. -- Perso: http://launay.org/blog/ H?bergement: http://www.nocworld.com/
