[GSoC] First draft project proposal; IR level interpreter debugger
Hello,
I have created a first draft GSoC project proposal for a IR level
interpreter debugger. I have omitted some contact information as it is
currently a public document (can be given upon request).
Feedback and comments are appreciated.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "x86 IR code" or "IR level
x86 code" -- can you please clarify?

I've scanned over your proposal, but am not quite sure I understand your
objective. Is your intent to be able to step through IR source in a
debugger and inspect intermediate state? If so, you may consider
whether "simply" inserting debug metatadata into your IR which describes
the IR source, and then compiling it gives you your desired result.
For the record, the current

Hello
Thanks to Beatriz Botero I know such thing should work nice.
But I try some combinations and always get result as on pictures:

while it shoud be

I would prefer fake-windows but tried also with real ones.
My system is slackware-current with kernel 2.6.9-rc1 but then I tried

Question about dovecot imap proxy
Hi everyone!
I have dovecot (1.2.11) on one our external mail servers acting as a
proxy. The client (ifor now, my iphone) connects fine via ssl to the
external mailserver but I can't seem to get a secure connection now to
the internal destination imap server (between external mail server and
internal imap server, it's going through port 143). Running tcpdump, I
can clearly see my

Best filesystem?
Hi everyone! What's the best filesystem to use for the mail spool? I'm
debating between Debian with xfs or FreeBSD with zfs. I'm not sure which
way to go. I'm migrating from cyrus. I have about 50 users so it's not a
large setup.
Cheers!

Cannot start a secondary Xserver with resolution 6480x3840
Hi,
In my workflow I am using several separate xservers. One for work,
another for research and so on. Each of them has a separate user
account, and they all belong to the same (main) group called janek.
I've been using nvidia for years, but about 2 years ago some super
annoying bug appeared in nvidia, namely that switching between
virtual terminals sporadically causes nvidia_modeset to

Hi,
thank you very much for your reply.
I will explain my use case in more detail. First thing is to note that
it worked with nvidia (apart from this annoying system freeze which
happened roughly every three months).

Running 2.x in production
Hi!
I'm setting up a new server and migrating from Cyrus to Dovecot. What
would be the most stable version to install on a production system.
Would 2.x be alright? I'm feeling lucky. System is Debian Lenny.
Thanks for any information!

Hi Janek,
A few things...
First off, you're not using the nouveau ddx, you're using the
modesetting ddx. This isn't a problem in itself, but if you're going
to report bugs, you should file them against the proper component.
Secondly, I'm a bit unclear as to what your setup is. A single X
server takes over a whole GPU. Recently "leasing" has been introduced

weighted kernel density estimate
Dear R-users,
I intend to do a spatial analysis on the genetic structuring within a
population. For this I had thought to prepare a kernel density estimate
map showing the spatial distribution of individuals, while incorporating
the genetic distances among individuals. I have a dataset of locations
of N unique individuals (XY-coordinates) and an NxN matrix with the
genetic distances given as a
