[LLVMdev] building llvm-gcc4 with a different target name
Hello,
I've put together a macports version of llvm and llvm-gcc4, but I've run
into a problem with how gcc on the mac works. llvm-gcc4 creates an
executable named:
/opt/local/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin8-gcc-4.0.1
Which happens to be the same executable in /usr/bin. Because I have
/opt/local before /usr/bin, gcc ends up using llvm-gcc4 to build all my
code. Most of the time this

__restirct ignored when including headers like <cmath>
Hi,
I am observing a strange behaviour in which Clang ignores __restirct when I
include some standard headers.
For example, this code:
void vec_add(int* __restrict a,
int* __restrict b,
int n) {
#pragma unroll 4
for(int i=0; i<n; ++i) {
a[i] += b[i];
}
}
results in:
; Function Attrs: nofree norecurse nounwind
define dso_local void @_Z7vec_addPiS_i(i32*

OT: svn installation tutorial
Hello friendly Rails community,
I''m sorry for this OT post, I''ve just switched to Mac and as I see there
are so many friendly mac users here, may I ask is there another
good/nice Subversion installation tutorial instead of this one:
http://developer.apple.com/tools/subversionxcode.html?
Is there another way to install it without compiling Subversion by
myself? For example via

[LLVMdev] llvm build not respecting DESTDIR?
Hello,
I'm updating the macports build of llvm, and I'm running into an issue
trying to stage llvm into a temporary directory. It builds fine, but
when I try to install it into a temporary location, it insists on
installing into the final location. The only reference I saw to the
standard gnu DESTDIR was in the llvm.spec file, but none of the
generated Makefiles have that value. Is

libc++ cross-compile linux-armv7 and math function problems
Hello,
I am trying to cross-compile libc++ from my x86_64 linux system to armv7hf.
We have our own gcc compiler that we build with crosstools-ng (based on gcc
6.3.0) and I set my environment like this:
CC=armv7a-plex-linux-gnueabihf-gcc
CXX=armv7a-plex-linux-gnueabihf-g++
CFLAGS=-fPIC -DPIC -mfloat-abi=hard -march=armv7-a -Os -mfpu=vfpv3-d16
--sysroot=<path>

libc++ cross-compile linux-armv7 and math function problems
At first glance, it looks like long double functions (such as fabsl and friends) are missing from your sysroot's <math.h>. Does your target support long double at all?

libc++ cross-compile linux-armv7 and math function problems
Hello Dimitry and thanks for your answer.
I am pretty sure it does indeed support long double. It's configured with
vfpv3-d16 - but I noticed that c++config.h in gcc has _GLIBCXX__HAS_FABSL
and friends are undefined. I think I need to look deeper at the
configuration of our toolchain.
long double support is required in libc++ then I gather?

[LLVMdev] IsNAN.cpp:23:3: #error "Don't know how to get isnan()"
Hi Brian
Here's the config.log (I'm not posting it on the dev-list).
The automatic gcc macro for Interix is __INTERIX if this is to any help.

Last night I've got the latest version of LLVM from CVS and now porting LLVM
to Interix from this version on.
I got this error:

New package test results available
We've added a column at
http://cran.r-project.org/web/checks/check_summary.html
of test results using the Sun Studio compiler: it is intended that
these will be updated weekly.
The Sun Studio compiler is that used on Solaris: these runs were on
the Linux version. All the other platforms are using gcc 4, so this
provides an opportunity for checking for use of gcc-specific features

Should llvm optimize 1.0 / x ?
Hi,
Here is a small C++ program:
vec.cc:
#include <cmath>
using v4f32 = float __attribute__((__vector_size__(16)));
v4f32 fct1(v4f32 x)
{
return 1.0 / x;
}
v4f32 fct2(v4f32 x)
{
return __builtin_ia32_rcpps(x);
}
Which is compiled to:

[LLVMdev] -fPIC warning on every compile on Cygwin
Hi,
I partly built LLVM on Cygwin yesterday and it was fine as far as it went.
But after doing a svn update today I am getting the following warning on
every compile :-
llvm[3]: Compiling LowerAllocations.cpp for Debug build
/usr/src/llvm/lib/Transforms/Utils/LowerAllocations.cpp:1: warning: -fPIC
ignored for target (all code is position independent)
This maybe happening on other targets too.
