No. It pessimizes correctly behaving code to work around code that

LLVM_REQUIRES_RTTI is an internal variable. It works as you say, but
there is no guarantee about it.

[LLVMdev] Have you guys met this issue about "typeinfo" & "vtable" of, ASTConsumer and PluginASTAction?
Hello Guys,
From this morning, I have been always trying PrintFunctionNames - an example of clang, but during compiling I was always meeting "__ZTIN5clang15PluginASTActionE", referenced from:
__ZTI24PrintFunctionNamesAction in PrintFunctionNames.cpp.o.
In fact, I didn't have "__ZTIN5clang15PluginASTActionE" in the symbol table, only I have was

Llvm typically doesn't build with RTTI enabled. Perhaps that's what you're running into?

I've actually tried to compile both LLVM and my lib with -frtti with same results.

[LLVMdev] typeinfo for llvm::MCAsmInfo is missing
Hi all.
I fully understand that the problem is a bit OT for llvmdev, but I'm stuck for two days now and I really need some direct push.
To the problem. I have a C++ shared library, that's working with llvm C++ api. Consider a function:
static Object llvm_Target_createMCAsmInfo(Object self, Object tripleName)
{
llvm::Target target = from_ruby<llvm::Target>(self);
char const

opt with Polly doesn't find the passes
I just checkout release_38 branches of llvm, clang and polly and built
it on and x86 Ubuntu with cmake:
CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE="Debug"
CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX="$HOME/toolchain/install/llvm-3.8"
LLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD="X86"
cmake -G "Unix Makefiles" \
-DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS="ON" \
-DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=$CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE \

[LLVMdev] CMake configuration: Detecting zlib.h header in windows.
Hi,
I have having hard time to let cmake configuration detect the zlib
header in windows with "Visual Studio 12" generator. My cmake
configuration goes like
>> Set path, include and lib environment variables to point to zlib
headers and libraries. Cmake version is 2.8.12.2
cmake -G "Visual Studio 12" -D LLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD:STRING=%TARG% -D

[LLVMdev] -fvisibility=hidden, and typeinfo, and type-erasure
[Was initially posted on cfe-users, sorry.]
Hi,
I'm sorry my message is quite long, the TL;DR version is "g++ and clang++ seem to have different opinions on how RTTI, templates, and ELF visibility should interact".
I can't tell whether this is a bug or not: I have found no relevant documentation that could help me decide whether this behavior is meant, or not. All I can say
