[lit] RFC: Per test timeout
Hi, A feature I've wanted in lit for a while is a having a timeout per test. Attached are patches that implement this idea. I'm e-mailing llvm-dev rather than llvm-commits because I want to gather more feedback on my initial implementation and hopefully some answers to some unresolved issues with my implementation. Currently in lit you can set a global timeout for all of the tests but

lld/mach-o x86_64 asserts
Sorry, I was thinking to review the test but didn't. Is this test complete? It does invoke lld, but it didn't verify its output. Marking lit::shtest-format.py unsupported on PS4?, Re: buildbot failure in LLVM on llvm-clang-lld-x86_64-scei-ps4-ubuntu-fast
FWIW, I've seen it fail on some of my commits too, but I don't remember whether it was on the PS4 bot exclusively or not. Anyway, my understanding is that this test shouldn't inherently have different behaviour on PS4 specifically, but I could be mistaken. I suspect it's something more general to do with the configuration of the bot. James On 20 July 2018 at 03:52, Justin Bogner

lit improvement
Hi, Me and my supervisor are interested in improving llvm's lit a little bit. Currently, there are few things, that seem to be not very convenient about the tool: * Having several RUN commands in a failing test, it's impossible to figure out, which of them actually caused the test to fail. We can output the number of the failing RUN line. * It would be nice to

Marking lit::shtest-format.py unsupported on PS4?, Re: buildbot failure in LLVM on llvm-clang-lld-x86_64-scei-ps4-ubuntu-fast
Should "lit :: shtest-format.py" (from check-lit) be marked unsupported on PS4? It seems flakey there. This evening, it failed on my commit, r337514, and I'm fairly confident it wasn't my commit's fault. Then it recovered on the next commit. http://lab.llvm.org:8011/builders/llvm-clang-lld-x86_64-scei-ps4-ubuntu-fast/builds/33502

[clang] Running a single testcase
Hi, while experimenting with llvmlinux on Debian/testing AMD64 I wanted to run some x86-64 ASM tests. I fell over [1] and wanted to run it. So, I cloned clang from Git... $ git clone https://github.com/llvm-mirror/clang.git I looked through some docs where I have seen I need "llvm-lit" or "lit.py". The Debian package llvm-7-tools from <apt.llvm.org> does ship

How is target_triple/default_triple handled in tests?
As part of trying to fix PR30610 (ThinLTO with module inline asm), I wanted to add an assert that we have a Target and an MCAsmParser when we have non-null module inline asm in IRObjectFile::CollectAsmUndefinedRefs. Otherwise it silently fails to parse the module inline asm, which I initially found when trying to add an 'opt' based test for my fix (because 'opt' wasn't

[clang] Running a single testcase
The simplest way to run a clang test case that I know of is to clone both llvm and clang repos, run all the tests, then run an individual test. IIRC like so: git clone llvm ...... cd llvm/tools git clone clang ..... cd ../../ mkdir build cd build cmake ../llvm ninja check-clang ./bin/llvm-lit -v ./tools/clang/test/Sema/asm.c On Sun, May 6, 2018 at 7:10 AM, Sedat Dilek via llvm-dev <

[llvm-lit] Is it possible to write a test for Linux only?
It is $target dependent. I’m curious what makes you think it is $host dependent. [LLVMdev] klee linker problem
Hello everyone, I am a novice with KLEE under LLVM. I am trying to build a KLEE project (on a new LLVM environment) and I have the following problem: echo Testing... Testing... echo There should be no assertion fails! There should be no assertion fails! klee -taint=direct taint_direct.o KLEE: output directory = "klee-out-8" klee: error: Cannot find linker input

PSA: debuginfo-tests workflow changing slightly
Hi Zachary: I was able to reproduce the greendragon results locally (OSX), and fix the problem by excluding 'debuginfo-tests' from check-clang -- this prevents them from being added twice, once for check-clang and again for check-debuginfo. Below are the minimized patches I used to reproduce and fix the problem -- based on your originals. I've verified these patches work when

[LLVMdev] klee linker problem
Hi, The klee library directory is determined at compile time and cannot be changed afterwards. Have a look at tools/klee/main.cpp to see how it is computed. I usually use Klee without any install step, right from the build directory. This has never given me the error you see. Hope this helps, Jonas On Wed, Jun 5, 2013 at 5:26 PM, Alexandru Ionut Diaconescu < alexandruionutdiaconescu at

Trouble supressing ASAN reported leaks
Hi, I'm currently trying to find and fix memory leaks (compiling with ``-fsanitize=address``) in the KLEE tool [1] an having found some leaks and I'm having trouble suppressing them. I'm trying to suppress them using the ``-fsanitize-blacklist=blacklist.txt`` option as documented at [2]. I'm using Clang 3.7 ( Arch Linux package 3.7.0-6). The sort of reported leaks I see are ```

[LLVMdev] uCLibc support for klee
Hello, In my reading over the last couple of days, I have read that in order for klee to work with "native" Linux programs, I need to install the uClibc posix support for klee. I am not finding the uClibc source in the llvm svn repository anywhere. Is this still necessary for testing native Linux applications, and if so, where do I get the uClibc source to compile? Thanks in
