Expected behavior of __builtin_return_address() with inlining?
Hi,
I am trying to understand what should be the expected behavior of __builtin_return_address(0)
when inlining has happened.
So, the GCC doc from https://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gcc/Return-Address.html says:
(I used GCC doc because I could not find equivalent Clang/LLVM builtin doc)
When inlining the expected behavior is that the function returns the address of the function
that is returned

[LLVMdev] For alias analysis, It's gcc too aggressive or LLVM need to improve?
Hi all,
Recently, I found gcc can generate faster codes by localizing global
variable inside loop and only write back once before function return. Gcc
can do this because its alias analysis think it's safe. But for below case,
gcc gives different result from -O0 and -O2.
#include <stdio.h>
struct heap {int index; int b;};
struct heap **ptr;
int aa;
int main() {
struct heap element;

r-base installation fails on Ubuntu 14.04
I just essentially the same question on this mailing list and the problem
ended up being that my cpu's architecture was not supported by the ubuntu
releases (or any releases for that matter). I had to build R from source,
but it wasn't much headache.
The Ubuntu releases only support i386 and amd64 --- i.e. 32 bit & 64 bit
intel and amd cpus and not, e.g., the arm cpus that are

[PATCH] patch to support super page (2M) with EPT
Attached are the patches to support super page with EPT. We only support
2M size. And shadow may still work fine with 4K pages.
The patches can be split into 3 parts. Apply order is as attached.
tool.diff
To allocate 2M physical contiguous memory in guest except the first 2M
and the last 2M.
The first 2M covers special memory, and Xen use the last few pages in

[VTD][RESEND]add a timer for the shared interrupt issue for vt-d
Keir,
It''s a resending patch for the timeout mechanism to deal with the shared
interrupt issue for vt-d enabled hvm guest.
We modify the patch following your comments last time and make some
other small fix:
1) We don''t touch the locking around the hvm_dpci_eoi().
2) Remove the HZ from the TIME_OUT_PERIOD macro which may confuse
others.
3) Add some

[VTD][PATCH] a time out mechanism for the shared interrupt issue for vtd
Attached is a patch for shared interrupt between dom0 and HVM domain for
vtd.
Most of problem is caused by that we should inject interrupt to both
domains and the
physical interrupt deassertion then may be delayed by the device
assigned to the HVM.
The patch adds a timer, and the time out value is sufficient large to
tolerant
the delaying used to wait for the physical interrupt deassertion.

How to set read.table variables to vectors?
The summary stats for the xin and yin variables below are correct. However,
if I use plot(xin,yin), an exception is thrown saying that "object xin is
not found."
Also, it is apparent that I can't successfully replace the x and y vectors
with values from xin and yin.
The four plots on one panel are showing but the range of x and y is only
[0,1], and therefore, it seems like an

[PATCH] Btrfs: pwrite blocked when writing from the mmaped buffer of the same page
This problem is found in meego testing:
http://bugs.meego.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6672
A file in btrfs is mmaped and the mmaped buffer is passed to pwrite to write to the same page
of the same file. In btrfs_file_aio_write(), the pages is locked by prepare_pages(). So when
btrfs_copy_from_user() is called, page fault happens and the same page needs to be locked again
in filemap_fault(). The fix is to
