[PATCH v3 3/8] OvmfPkg: define EFI_XEN_OVMF_INFO and extend XenInfo
EFI_XEN_OVMF_INFO is defined to accept configurations from hvmloader. It must match the definition on Xen side. XenInfo is extended to include necessary bits as well. Currently only E820 map is in use. [LLVMdev] wrong codegen
hi, the current release_20 branch seems to miscompile the following reduced testcase (not target architecture specific): #define UInt16 unsigned short #define UInt8 unsigned char UInt8 foo(UInt16 a) { return (UInt8)(((a >> 10) & 1) << 1); } it - misleadingly - optimizes the expression to something like (undef & 2). I guess the problem is related to the DAG combiner but I

RFC: alloca -- specify address space for allocation
Philip: I think there are two separate issues: 1) Handling GC pointers stored in stack locations -- tracking their liveness, reporting them to the GC. etc. 2) Treating pointers to stack locations as GC-pointers. I think the two options that you presented here are for solving (1). I'm trying to solve issue (2) using alloca in addrspace(1). Basically, we want to create a pointer to a stack

SHA256 password patch
Hi, I made a patch against branch-1.0 for SHA256 password hashing support for Dovecot. Courier Authlib supports this hashing scheme and in order to migrate from Courier to Dovecot, I've added SHA256 support to Dovecot. The attached patch is based on BSD licensed code from Olivier Gay (http://www.ouah.org/ogay/sha2/). Changes made by me in Olivier's sha2{.h,.c} code: - Prototype for

RFC: alloca -- specify address space for allocation
Currently, the alloca instruction always allocates in the generic address space (0). This proposal is to extend the semantics of alloca instruction to allow allocation in any specified address space. Proposed Syntax <result> = alloca [inalloca] <type> [, <ty> <NumElements>] [, align <alignment>] [, addrspace <num>] ; yields type addrspace(num)*:result

[LLVMdev] Why BinaryOperator::Create requires same argument types for shifts?

In my case, original types were uint8 (value) and uint32 (shift) llvm lacks unsigned types which made it S1=i8 and S2=i32. It's technically nothing wrong with such combination, and code works

[LLVMdev] design question on inlining through statepoints and patchpoints
I've been looking at inlining invokes / calls done through statepoints and I want to have a design discussion before I sink too much time into something I'll have to throw away. I'm not actively working on adding inlining support to patchpoints, but I suspect these issues are applicable towards teaching LLVM to inline through patchpoints as well. There are two distinct problems to

[LLVMdev] design question on inlining through statepoints and patchpoints
The long term plan is a) evolving, and b) dependent on the specific use case. :) It would definitely be nice if we could support both early and late safepoint insertion. I see no reason that LLVM as a project should pick one or the other since the infrastructure required is largely overlapping. (Obviously, I'm going to be mostly working on the parts that I need, but others are always

[LLVMdev] Why BinaryOperator::Create requires same argument types for shifts?
I get an assert @ Instructions.cpp:1774 when Op=llvm::Instruction::Shl. Should this assert avoid shift operations? Yuri

[LLVMdev] Why BinaryOperator::Create requires same argument types for shifts?
Hi Yuri, As stated in LLVM's language reference manual (http://llvm.org/docs/LangRef.html#i_shl), both arguments for a shl need to have the same type. What exactly are you trying to do? --Stephan > I get an assert @ Instructions.cpp:1774 when Op=llvm::Instruction::Shl. > Should this assert avoid shift operations? > > Yuri

[LLVMdev] [lldb-dev] How is variable info retrieved in debugging for executables generated by llvm backend?
Thank you, Clayton. It works now! Our debugger server responds "name:J28;generic:fp;bitsize:32;encoding:uint;format:hex;gcc:60;dwarf:60". And I also set other "generic" attributes like sp, pc, ra, arg1~arg8 to related registers. I dig a little and find llvm dwarf generator uses TargetRegisterInfo::getFrameRegister() to obtain frame base, and uses

[LLVMdev] [lldb-dev] How is variable info retrieved in debugging for executables generated by llvm backend?
Thank you, Clayton. This is very helpful. We use the LLDB specific GDB remote extensions, and our debugger server supports "qRegisterInfo" package. "reg 0x3c" is the frame pointer. In the example mentioned above, we have SP = FP - 40 for current call frame. And variable "a" is stored at address (FP + -24) from asm instruction [FP + -24] = R3;; Thus we can conclude

[LLVMdev] Win32 COFF Support
Hi All, I have created a minimally functional Win32 COFF Exporter using the new MC framework. I made some minor changes to other libraries to allow me to plug it in without building it as part of the LLVM project. I wanted to share it but wasn't sure how to go about doing so, so I have attached the code to this message. Any feedback on would be appreciated. -------------- next part

Agent protocol changes related to U2F/FIDO2 keys
I spent some time today implementing support for loading U2F keys into the SSH agent from my AsyncSSH library. I got it working, but along the way I ran into a few issues I wanted to report: First, it looks like the value of SSH_AGENT_CONSTRAIN_EXTENSION has changed from the value 3 defined at https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-miller-ssh-agent-02

[PATCH 00 of 16] libxl: autogenerate type definitions and destructor functions
The series introduces auto-generation of the type definitions used in the libxl interface followed by auto-generation of a destructor function for each type. In the future it may be possible to use the related data structures for other purposes, for example auto-generation of the functions to marshal between C and language binding data types. tools/_libxl_types.h should be identical both before

smbclient hangs
Hello, I'm having problems with using smbclient on a win2k share. The server runs samba 3.0.14a on Solaris 9. I want to tar the whole directory of a share. Into a file on the server What I found out so far is, that it works until a maximum file count of 35. It is not size dependant but if the file count in that share exceeds more than 35 the smbclient hangs for ever and with the time is

Samba3b2, solaris, AD suport and libiconv.
Hi all, I am attempting to build samba3 beta2 for AD support, and I've run into a brick wall. I am using Solaris 2.7 and 2.9, with gcc 2.95.2, with krb5-1.2.8 and (now) libiconv-1.9.1 Firstly, I am getting errors of the like: Error loading module '/usr/local/samba/lib/charset/CP850.so': ld.so.1: ./smbclient: fatal: /usr/local/samba/lib/charset/CP850.so: open failed: No such file or
