[LLVMdev] Bad permissions for mapped region
Hi List, I'm trying to upgrade our llvm-c based compiler from JIT to MCJIT. While trying to do so I encountered several problems. Looks like C API does not have proper functions to intialize LLVM with MCJIT. I ended up wrapping the following functions in my own init routine. LLVMInitializeX86TargetInfo(); LLVMInitializeX86Target(); LLVMInitializeX86TargetMC(); LLVMInitializeX86AsmPrinter();

[LLVMdev] Error while creating ExecutionEngine
Thanks Bill! But it does not work. I get the error given below when I try to load LLVMExecutionEngine.o in the opt command. Error opening '../../../build/Release/lib/LLVMExecutionEngine.o': ../../../build/Release/lib/LLVMExecutionEngine.o: only ET_DYN and ET_EXEC can be loaded -load request ignored. Any ideas?? Opt plugin linkage
The fundamental problem here is that opt doesn’t use ExecutionEngine (because it has no need to), so trying to use ExecutionEngine (or any other bit of llvm that opt doesn’t use for that matter) in an opt plugin isn’t going to work. The solution I’d go with would be to build llvm with shared libraries (use –DBUILD_SHARED_LIBS=ON on the cmake command) then link the plugin against ExecutionEngine.
