programming: telling a function where to look for the entered variables
Hi there,
Could someone help me with the following programming problem..?
I have written a function that works for my intended purpose, but it
is quite closely tied to a particular dataframe and the names of the
variables in this dataframe. However, I'd like to use the same
function for different dataframes and variables. My problem is that
I'm not quite sure how to tell my function in

[LLVMdev] BNF-like grammar to describe LLVM IR?
Hi, all,
very interested to ask if any one knows that there is a BNF like grammar to
describe LLVM IR?
Thanks,

First, BRAVO for this wonderful plugin: has_many_polymorphs ! Now my

[LLVMdev] MC to LLVM disassembler?
Thanks for your response. In your experience, was it worth the conversion hassle and code expansion to have the code in a platform-independent SSA form and be able to apply LLVM-based analysis tools? Or is it better to convert to another IR (such as BAP[1]) and work in that form?

[LLVMdev] X86 Tablegen Description and VEX.W
Hi,
A question from r162999 changes:
http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/llvm/trunk/lib/Target/X86/X86InstrFMA.td?r1=162999&r2=162998&pathrev=162999
For the multiclass "fma4s", why is "mr" not inherited from "VEX_W" and
"MemOp4" like those of "rm" or "rr" ?

[LLVMdev] [RFC] OpenMP Representation in LLVM IR
Not to distract, but the word, `procedurization' is not an English word.
It's just leaping out at me when it is either procedure(s) (noun) or
proceduralize (verb). Even processes would make sense. I couldn't help
myself because the word was distracting.

P.S. Not that my vote counts, but I'm more in the camp of Hal whose

Hey Anitha,
The VEX.W bit is used to denote operand order. In other words, this bit
allows for a memop to be used as

The upgrade to Rails 1.1 hurt my ability to run tests because it
generated the following MySQL error:

[LLVMdev] [RFC] OpenMP Representation in LLVM IR
Hi All,
We'd like to make a proposal for OpenMP representation in LLVM IR.
Our goal is to reach an agreement in the community on a simple,
complete and extensible representation of OpenMP language constructs
in LLVM IR. Hopefully, this would serve as a common ground and would
enable further development of OpenMP support both in Clang and LLVM
compiler toolchain.
We seek feedback on the

Polymorphic, many-to-many, self-referential data model
No matter what I try I''ve been unable to work how to get this to work with
the cool ActiveRecord helpers. I''m not sure if it''s possible, Josh Susser''s
blog suggests it is, but damned if I can work it out...
I have:
Container which can contain one or more Element. An Element is a polymorph
of either a Container or a Chunk. An Element can exist in one or more

R 64 and R: using 64-bit versions of packages in R (32)
I'm running R 2.9.2 build 5464 on OS X 10.5.8. Having encountered
memory allocation problems, I ran the problematic code in R64, the 64-
bit version of the same build. When I attempt to load openNLP I
receive the error message that the 32-bit version that I had been
using does not run in R64.
Assuming there is a 64-bit version, can I install and load it in R64
and, when I

Hiera Automatic Parameter Lookup Question
This may be a dumb question, but here goes
So I''m running on Puppet 3.1.1 on RHEL5, and i''ve been using Hiera since 2.5/2.6 ish and it''s been great!! I was reading up on Automatic Parameter Lookups and would love to use it for my modules. But I can''t seem to ever get Hiera/Puppet to load the value i''ve set in my yaml files. I feel like I must be

How to determine if R is 64 bit compiled under Unix-alike?
Under MacOS I had R64 executive and it was clear. Under Ubuntu, which I
do not have administrative rights to, there is only R executive. It
seems that I can allocate more than 3GB of memory, however not
everything seems to work the same/right as with R64 under MacOS.

Decompilation and the SSA form
Hi,
Is decompilation possible in general to the SSA form for binaries? I assume
one has to make certain assumptions about code in general to get tools like
these to work. For example if code like with dlsym or jit heap allocated
functions can be incorporated at runtime it would seem that in general it
is quite difficult to ascertain the boundaries of a basic block and insert
the correct phi

Migrations with multi-column indexes
Hey Folks,
I can''t really glean this from the documentation.
Is there a way to do: add_index(table_name, column_name, index_type)
within my migration for an index that spans multiple columns? Ie: A
covering index on FIRST_NAME, LAST_NAME or something like that?
Best,
Brian
