1.9
Hey so,
People are asking about Mongrel Ruby 1.9 compatibility. Isn''t the
point of 1.9 for library developers to have time to get ready for 2.0?
It''s not like 1.9 is a production release.

What is the recommended way to move a message from one mailbox to another using CLI
What is the recommended way to move a message from one mailbox to another
using CLI - serverside commands ?
Since IMAP does not support transactional moves between mailboxes - The only
thing that comes to my mind is this operation:
1) extract message from mailbox A using "doveadm fetch"
2) inject message into mailbox B using "dovecot-lda"
3) expunge message from mailbox A

Login just at special timeslots / working hours
Hi,
is there a dovecot feature I did not found yet, which can limit the
access to the server to special timeslots like working hours?
Or is that a serverside / sssd / auth / pam / account feature?
Thanks for hints to some helpfull documentation and sugesstions.

Updatable "datagrid" with ajax support? Is there any code/approach I can leverage?
Hi,
I want to have a page in my Ruby on Rails application that is like a
dynamic / updateable data grid. Like a matrix or spreadsheet segment
(x rows, y columns) which one can click in any of the cells and make
an update, which triggers some AJAX code to fire off the update, and
then the responses come back and update whatever else needs updating
based on this change.
Is there a prototype

Some silly benchs (was: 1.9)
Guys,
Just for fun, I tried to see (I know, a silly way to test it) how much
overhead we have calling the C functions of the extensions.
the benchmark script and the results:
http://pastie.caboo.se/128646
The naive C extension:
http://pastie.caboo.se/128647
I compared 1.8.6 (VC6 and mingw builds) against a fresh checkout of ruby trunk.
What I understand from that is 1.9 is slower than 1.8

arc diff says "disk is full"?
Hello,
I'm seeing what appears to be a serverside error - "Internal Server Error
FilesystemException: Failed to create a temporary directory: the disk is
full." if arc diff --trace. Anyone else getting this - any idea what to do?
Thanks

Temporary Profiles
Hi,
I have got a problem with samba for days now and I don't know how to solve
it.
My problem is, that it doesn't matter if I enable or disable Roaming
Profiles, all I get is a temporary profile.
If i enable Roaming Profiles, than i get a temporary serverside Profile. If
I disable Roaming Profiles, than i get a temporary local Profile.
Can somebody please help me?

Exclude & --delete not working?
Hi there,
we have an odd problem, which maybe how rsync is
intended to work, but I think not: On server side, we
run rsync in daemon mode with a share [foo] that has a
serverside path of /foo. On client side, we invoke
rsync -zavuSH --delete server::foo/ /foo. The rsync
daemon uses an exclusion list.
The problem is, the client rsync deletes clientside
whatever is in the exclusionlist. If I read

Could this issue also be related to an “AphrontQueryException #1030: Got error 28 from storage engine” error when browsing Phabricator?

Updater and PeriodicUpdater fighting with one another
I have a long-running process to build a directory tree in a database
from a very large and deep folder structure. I am using sessions for
security, but the process takes so long that it never finishes.
Having tried and failed to override the session time-out, I am trying
to work around the problem by having a PeriodicUpdater tickle the
session by loading a page every minute. But I am also

puppet and kerberos keytabs
Hi,
we use kerberos with keytabs on our clients. We do *not* trust root on
the clients! One client should never have access to any other client''s
keytab. This is my proposed solution to get the keytabs to the clients,
any comments welcome!
1. Use file to get /root/.ssh/authorized_keys
2. Use exported resource to let the client "notify" the server that it
wants a keytab

some features of icecast2 beta
I'm inquiring about some possible features of icecast2, that are
important to me:
- stream relay
- server side stream dump
- mp3 streaming alongside Ogg Vorbis
which of these are going to be in the upcoming beta?
another question: how and what stream metadata can be set when using
icecast2?

Mandatory User Profile
Hi,
first of all: my name is uli... i'm from bavaria/germany and i'm working
with linux quite a long time (maybe 10 years).
Now my "problem":
my samba is setup with ldap-backend. my configuration with mandatory
profiles is working quite good. i created a Default User - Profile in my
netlogon-share (migrated from a windows-xp client). ntuser.dat has been
renamed to ntuser.man.

file_field doesnt work inside form_remote_for
When I do file_field within a form_for things are fine... but within a
form_remote_for, with nothing else changed, I find that the params
does not even have the element document[uploaded_file] even though it
is definitely present in the HTML source in the form. Obviously the
file upload fails.
Am I missing something? Or has someone else faced this? Or is this a
known bug?

file_column
Restricting size of an uploaded file, is how is that possible? If I
do not want a user to upload a file larger than X bytes, can it
easily be done?
If I also would like restrict the types of files that can be
uploaded, how may I do so?
Thank you,

Generic asset definitions and management
(The following is not a Rails-specific question, but relates to a problem
that affects Rails, so I wonder whether anyone on the team has an opinion
about it or knows whether a solution is already in development.)
While gem dependencies can be easily managed in a Gemfile by Bundler, when
it comes to other assets, you either have to manually copy javascript files
into the app/assets or vendor

suggestions for a "fast" fileserver - 1G / 10G
Hi,
I'm looking for some recommendations for a "fast" fileserver regarding
the hardware you use.
We have different fileservers as our requirements changed over time.
The "main" problem we are faced with is, that with smb (windows 7 and OS
X) clients we never get really close to GBit speed on reads or writes.
Using the same servers/storages with ftp, ssh, rsync, nfs we
