[LLVMdev] Module->getDataLayout returns std::string instead of DataLayout
hey, so I'm writing in cpp. the documentation says that TheModule -> getDataLayout should return const DataLayout, but instead it is returning std::string. I require it to return DataLayout, as I generalize my function pass manager to accept the DataLayout constant as an argument, it being the only thing in common amongst both the ExecutionEngine and the Module class. Any pointers to

Parsing a bit code file
I am trying to parse LLVM IR from a bit code file. I went through the following steps. hello.cpp #include <iostream> int main() { std::cout << "Hello world!" << "\n"; return 0;} dump.cpp #include <llvm/IR/Module.h>#include <llvm/IRReader/IRReader.h>#include <llvm/IR/LLVMContext.h>#include <llvm/Support/SourceMgr.h> using

[LLVMdev] Saving code for later execution
I'm using the LLVM C++ API to create code on-the-fly for execution. This works fine. But what if I want to save this code to disk, quit, relaunch my app at some later time, reload the previously generated code off disk, and execute it? How can I do that? Can somebody point me to some documentation or examples? Thanks. - Paul

[LLVMdev] write IR on file
hi how can i write IRinstruction on a file.txt? when i use  {for(inst_iterator I = inst_begin(F), E = inst_end(F); I != E; ++I,count++)  IRcodefile << std::basic_ostream(*I) <<"\n" } i get  error. is there any way that i can write it on file? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... [LLVMdev] write module to .bc file
i'm afraid this question is extremely basic, but i've assumed that dumping a .bc file from a module was a trivial operation, but now, first time i have to actually do it from code, for the life of me i can't find one missing step in the process: static void WriteModule ( const Module * M, BitstreamWriter & Stream )

Debug info error on bitcode inline modification
Hi, I'm trying to inline function defined in another bitcode module via bitcode modification. I'm linking multiple bitcode modules, setting inline related attributes, applying -always-inline pass, but then debug info error occurs. It seems debug info metadata isn't properly updated on inlining. How can I fix it? I'm using LLVM 3.8.1 on OS X (On below example target is Android but

Debug info error on bitcode inline modification
Every inlinable call in a function that has debug info (F->getSubprogram() returns non-null) must have a DebugLoc associated with it that has a scope chain that ends in that same DISubprogram. https://llvm.org/docs/SourceLevelDebugging.html discusses some of the debug info IR metadata in LLVM. Thank you for the comment! I don't know if this is a proper way to fix, but after I add DebugLoc same as inserting position instruction, no error occurs.

[LLVMdev] Different behavoir when writing to stdout with 2 raw_fd_ostreams with or w/o redirection
Dear all, Consider there is a program that writes to stdout using two different raw_fd_ostream-s: #include "llvm/LLVMContext.h" #include "llvm/Module.h" #include "llvm/Support/raw_ostream.h" using namespace llvm; int main() { raw_fd_ostream S(STDOUT_FILENO, false); outs() << "Hello"; S << ", world!";

NADA
Dear Users Regarding the NADA package, would anyone be able to help me understand what values are actually plotted on the Y axis of the plot obtained by using the *ros* function on the data and plotting the result with the plot() function? The Y axis is labeled "Values". According to the NADA user manual, ros performs a log transformation of the data by default, but the user can specify

[LLVMdev] Adding comments to generated IR
I'm using createPrintModulePass to produce the IR of a created Module. I'm wondering if there is some way to insert/attach comments to the generated output. That is, prior to a given command, or block, emit a comment. I see the ability to add meta/debug data. Could that somehow be used to get comments into the generated IR? Or is there some other mechanism? I want to do this to help me

Can we do atomic write to a file by using raw_fd_ostream?
Hi all, In a pass I’m using raw_fd_ostream to write a string to a file. Does raw_fd_ostream guarantee the write is atomic when I do parallel compilation (currently I’m using -j8)? I have some errs() to print information for debugging purposes and I saw that the printed information gets messed up sometime. If I’m writing a string with the format of “A:B:C”, is it possible that I got “A1:B2:C1” and

[LLVMdev] [API CHANGE (on trunk)] raw_fd_ostream defaults to overwrite
Hello, The following describes an API change on trunk. The change is not in the 2.6 branch. The raw_fd_ostream class now defaults to overwriting its output file, and the F_Force flag which was introduced only recently is gone. There's a new F_Excl flag to support users wanting the behavior of returning an error if the file exists, though no one actually appears to want this.

raw_pwrite_stream to string or stdout?
Note that raw_fd_ostream is not seekable, and hence will not be suitable as addPassesToEmitFile output stream. 2016-02-22 18:27 GMT+02:00 Rafael Espíndola <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org>: > On 22 February 2016 at 11:16, Frank Winter <fwinter at jlab.org> wrote: > > TargetMachine::CGFT_AssemblyFile is exactly what I am trying to write > out. > > I see. > > For

On LLVM trunk, raw_fd_ostream is now back to overwriting files by default, as it is the unanimous preference among in-tree users (and out-of-tree users that I'm aware of). Dan

problems with nls?
I need to make nonlinear regression with the posterior script, but how is the problem? I have error in library (nls), package 'nls' has been merged into 'stats'. I need help? What other forms I have to make nonlinear regression? and how I find to calculate statistics y residuals, scatterplot. thanks SCRIPT ros<-read.table("Dataset.csv",header=T,sep=",")
