Hello all, I was playing with LLVM pass. I changed the lib/Transforms/Hello/Hello.cpp 's content to be my own pass. Then I make install the pass and use an example test1.c to see whether it works or not. Hola Aaron, Just having that code didn't work since the linker still stripped it out, so I have that function called from the code in the system that actually is being used by our app. Kinda grubby, but I include: #include "llvm/lib/Target/X86/X86TargetMachine.h" Which is in the LLVM lib, not the LLVM inc directory. LLVM Kaleidoscope : Compiling to Object Code - Segmentation Fault
Hi David! Thanks for reaching out, the codegen part of the tutorial is fine, but when I try to generate the object code file, it throws segfault. Also please note that I'm using release build of llvm, actually I don't know whether that is the root cause or not. [LLVMdev] Enabling x86-64 JIT under Visual Studio compiler
I built the LLVM 2.2 distribution under Visual Studio for x86-64 just fine, but then trying to run my first "hello world" application, found that the JIT compiler was not enabled. I'm completely new to LLVM, so I didn't know exactly where to look to see why the JIT for my platform wasn't being built (is it in the configure steps, or in the C++ code itself?). My educated guess

Hi vedant, 1. First, I think your theory is right that llvm’s object file reading libraries do not “understand” the architecture I’m working on. Since I’m using binutils as assembler which means llvm can only provide asm and object file is provided by biutils. I think these ELF header information is provided by my binutils now, so maybe I have to modify binutils code to provide ELF header
