[LLVMdev] [lldb-dev] [cfe-dev] What does "debugger tuning" mean?
I don’t think there was a driver patch so far, was there? -- adrian > On May 6, 2015, at 1:19 PM, Eric Christopher <echristo at gmail.com> wrote: > > Does the patch do all of this? > > -eric > > On Wed, May 6, 2015 at 1:18 PM Robinson, Paul <Paul_Robinson at playstation.sony.com <mailto:Paul_Robinson at playstation.sony.com>> wrote: > I just skimmed

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [lldb-dev] What does "debugger tuning" mean?
I just skimmed through the thread again, and I *think* all the main questions have been answered… It feels like the consensus is "reluctant agreement," with the specific design points being: - a "debugger tuning" option would have some sort of target-based default - the "debugger tuning" option would unpack into defaults for individual feature flags -

[LLVMdev] [lldb-dev] [cfe-dev] What does "debugger tuning" mean?
Comments on the patch raise the following questions, probably better discussed here. First: Should LLVM default to "no tuning" rather than a target-specific default? There are two natural follow-up questions: What would "no tuning" actually mean? Where would the target-specific defaulting occur? I originally came down against the "no tuning" option, in favor of the

PSA: debuginfo-tests workflow changing slightly
Yea I also just found it. Try adding this code in the bottom of debuginfo-tests/lit.cfg.py lit.util.usePlatformSdkOnDarwin(config, lit_config) On Mon, Nov 13, 2017 at 4:38 PM Adrian Prantl <aprantl at apple.com> wrote: > Ha! Great! It's close to the end of the day, so I'll submit tomorrow to make sure everything has a chance to go fully green again to ensure I get failure emails if it breaks. Hi Zackary, Did you see my followup to you cfe-commits rollback: http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/cfe-commits/Week-of-Mon-20171120/210212.html I think you can just remove the change to cfe/trunk/test/CMakeLists.txt and it should work just fine. hth... don On Tue, Nov 21, 2017 at 12:00 PM Zachary Turner via llvm-dev < llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > Just an update, > > At

[LLVMdev] Issues with clang-llvm debug info validity
I looked into this a little. My proposal is this: - extend DINamespace with an extra UniqueID filed (analogous to DICompositeType) - add an extra case to DIScope::getRef() - Let CGDebugInfo create a mangled name for each namespace to use as UID -> the UID of the anonymous namespace is null. For example: namespace a { namespace b {} } -> “_ZN1a", “_ZN1a1b" !0 = [compile unit]

[LLVMdev] Improving the quality of debug locations / DbgValueHistoryCalculator
The most obvious place where it is lacking at the moment is that it only supports DBG_VALUEs in registers. Adding support for constant values, memory locations, and fp constants would be a big win! thanks, Adrian > On May 11, 2016, at 2:52 PM, Francois Pichet <pichet2000 at gmail.com> wrote: > > In retrospect I totally agree with you. Yes I can reproduce this locally. It looks like we are not passing an -isysroot (pointing to the SDK) to clang but it isn’t clear what lit magic would expand this. -- adrian > On Nov 13, 2017, at 3:30 PM, Zachary Turner <zturner at google.com> wrote: > > Yea I'm preparing a revert right now. Since this is causing all of our internal CI to back up, could you please revert your two changes, so we can make sure that they were actually responsible, and can work on a fix for this? Let me know how we can help investigate this. -- adrian > On Nov 13, 2017, at 3:25 PM, Adrian Prantl via llvm-dev <llvm-dev at lists.llvm.org> wrote: > > The first build where a test fails with
