object class with STI and Polymorphic Assoc''s.
Hi, lets say I have a a table, "Linkings" that I am using for
polymorphic associations. One of the associations is to the "person"
table, and there are several other associations.
"Person" has 2 types, "slacker" and "suckup".
It is modelled as such:
class Linking < ActiveRecord::Base
belongs_to :person
belongs_to :linkable, :polymorphic

Prelink failure
I have a number of CentOS6 machines, and on one of them, the daily prelink
cron job aborts. Any ideas what to look for?
/etc/cron.daily/prelink:
/etc/cron.daily/prelink: line 47: 9381 Aborted (core dumped) /usr/sbin/prelink -av $PRELINK_OPTS >> /var/log/prelink/prelink.log 2>&1
I'm unfamiliar with prelink, so I'm not sure what to look for in the logs.

Can't remember if I posted this before... We're getting warnings from
rkhunterWarning: Checking for prerequisites [ Warning ]
All file hash checks will be skipped because:
This system uses prelinking, but the hash function command does not
look like SHA1 or MD5.
Now, googling, I find people saying to rm /etc/prelink.cache, then run
rkhunter --propupd.
Works. And then,

Can't run program; exec-shield or prelink active?
I have a large installer program (~400MB) that fails to run under wine
(20050310). It gives me the following:
err:virtual:map_image Image was mapped at 0x60640000: standard load address
for a Win32 program (0x00400000) not available
err:virtual:map_image Do you have exec-shield or prelink active?

The thing is that I

prelink
The above discussion of prelink gave me pause for thought...
I have a "suite" of programs that I install in their own directory,
along with their datafiles, under /opt.
Would it be a good idea to add that directory to /etc/prelink.conf?
What could go wrong?

OpenSSH linkable library
Has anyone considered making a linkable library of the OpenSSH code so
that one could programatically interact with ssh? Or is there some other
method to accomplish this?
Thanks,

RPM Build Question
Hi People,
I have just started building my own RPMS on both Fedora and CentOS and
generally things have gone well. Currently I am trying to create RPMS
for some commercial software that we have purchased.
Step 1 was install the software using its JAVA Based installer
ensuring that all files were installed into a particular directory in
/usr/local.
Step 2 was create a tar file of the

[LLVMdev] comparing .o files from different build trees
I'm trying to write a script for checking whether the compiler recursed
properly.
rkotler at mipsswbrd002:~/slave/recurse3be/build$ find . -name "*.o" -exec
cmp '{}' ../../recurse2be/build/'{}' \; |& tee foo.txt
Is anyone else doing this?
There 2 compilers, recurse 2 and recurse3 that in principle should be
identical.
Obviously if there is date and time

[LLVMdev] successful full recurse of mips32
We have NFS mounted drives.
I first build an clang/llvm hosted compiler for Mips linux using the
clang/llvm linux x86 compiler.
Call this clang1.
then in directory recurse on Mips host, I place this clang1 compiler and
build clang2.
then i rename recurse to recurse1 and create a new recurse directory.
in recurse I copy clang2 from recurse1 to a recurse but name it clang1.
then i build

[LLVMdev] llvm builtins
In the following example with gcc style builtins, in once case
llvm.powi.f64 is emitted
and in the other just a call to library function powf.
~/llvm/build/Debug+Asserts/bin/clang -S -emit-llvm pow1.c
Why is that?
Is there a way to force the call to an llvm style builtin?
Tia.
