[LLVMdev] How to get the symbols from a .so file?
Hello all,     I develop a project based on Clang where I need to read all symbols from a library. For symbols libraries (.a/.lib) I use the following code:     auto &FM = C->getFileManager();     ...     auto Buffer = FM.getBufferForFile(FileEntry);     ...     auto Object = llvm::object::ObjectFile::createObjectFile(Buffer);     This code crashes at the last line if the file in

ObjectCache and getFunctionAddress issue
Hi all, I'm trying to add pre-compiled object cache to my run-time. I've implemented the object cache as follow: class EngineObjectCache : public llvm::ObjectCache { private: std::unordered_map<std::string, std::unique_ptr<llvm::MemoryBuffer>> CachedObjs; public: virtual void notifyObjectCompiled(const llvm::Module *M, llvm::MemoryBufferRef Obj) { auto id =

how to auto-report LLVM bugs found by fuzzing?
Hi, We have several llvm fuzz targets running on OSS-Fuzz, a continuous automated fuzzing service: https://github.com/google/oss-fuzz https://www.usenix.org/sites/default/files/conference/protected-files/usenixsecurity17_slides_serebryany.pdf It has reported a few bugs in cxa_demangler, clang, and dwarfdump already, and we expect to add more fuzz targets to it soon (llvm-isel-fuzzer,

DWARF Generator
I have recently been modifying the DWARF parser and have more patches planned and I want to be able to add unit tests that test the internal llvm DWARF APIs to ensure they continue to work and also validate the changes that I am making. There are not many DWARF unit tests other than very simple ones that test DWARF forms currently. I would like to expand this to include many more tests. I had

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] basic reading reloc visitor for x86_64 ELF
For llvm-dwarfdump we need to handle relocations inside the debug info sections in order to successfully dump the dwarf info including strings. Nick sent out a partial patch that did this not too long ago and I've taken it and gone in a bit of a different direction, but kept the same basic architecture. In place of applying the relocations to the data we've read from disk I'm keeping

OT Proftpd stopped authenication for users
For some reason proftpd stopped authentication for users. Anonymous access still works but when someone tries to access the server via their login it no longer authenticates them. I recently ran yum where proftpd was updated (that said, I'm not sure that caused the problem). I uninstalled the new version and and installed a prior version with no change. Below is a look at my config, a

Hitting assertion failure related to vectorization + instcombine
Hi folks, I'm hitting the below assertion failure when compiling this small piece of C code (repro.c, attached). My command line is: bin/clang --target=aarch64-linux-gnu -c -O2 repro.c clang is built from top of trunk as of this morning. It only happens at -O2, and it doesn't happen with the default target (x86_64). I tried to reproduce using just 'llc -O2' but didn't

Why is lldb telling me "variable not available"?
I haven't fully parsed this thread (sorry!), but I wanted to briefly mention that the SafeStack & ASan passes both do something similar (I think): move local variables backed by allocas onto a separate stack. These passes use replaceDbgDeclare to rewrite dbg.declares s.t. they point into the new stack. After that, llvm presumably runs LowerDbgDeclare (usually via InstCombine), but all the

[RFC] Thoughts on a bitcode symbol table
This is about https://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=27551. Currently there is no easy way to get symbol information out of bitcode files. One has to read the module and mangle the names. This has a few problem * During lto we have to create the Module earlier. * There is no convenient spot to store flags/summary. * Simpler tools like llvm-nm have massive dependencies because Object depends on MC

Why is lldb telling me "variable not available"?
Vedant, Jeremy, Thanks a ton! I copied ASan's use of 'replaceDbgDeclare', think that worked! https://github.com/modocache/llvm-project/commit/afbc04e1dcba has some extremely quick and dirty changes I made (with no tests!), and a link to a Gist with the LLVM IR and DWARF produced, https://gist.github.com/modocache/6f29093ba2827946011b422ed3bd2903. There's only one kink: the spot

Longstanding failing tests - clang-tidy, MachO, Polly
Hi, A few tests seem broken for a long time, some for more than a month. Would it possible for respective owners to take a look please? I'm at checkout 133a7e631cee97965e310f0d110739217427fd3d, compiling on Windows 10. These tests fail with Visual Studio 2019: Failing Tests (7): Clang Tools :: clang-tidy/checkers/cert-mem57-cpp-cpp17.cpp Clang Tools ::

[ThinLTO] assert(GS != DefinedGlobals.end()) failed in FunctionImport.cpp
Hi Taewook, I had a better fix for this approved (D23015), but when I went to merge this with the new LTO API I committed for pcc last week I discovered that his new API already has the same effect. I will update the bug with this info as well. Can you confirm that with a compiler built after 278338 that this problem no longer occurs? Also, any luck on a smaller test case for the -g issue? Now

Longstanding failing tests - clang-tidy, MachO, Polly
So, for this test case: extern "C" void shouldBeUnconditional(); extern "C" void shouldBeConditional(); extern "C" void otherCall(); void testFn(bool Bool1, bool Bool2) { Bool1 |= Bool2; shouldBeUnconditional(); if (Bool1) shouldBeConditional(); if (Bool2) { otherCall(); if (Bool1) otherCall(); } } MSVC generates this buggy asm: $ cl -c
