[LLVMdev] Is there a way to verify that debug info metadata are correct ?
Hi all, I'm using my own front-end that generates LLVM debug info metadata. I was using LLVM 2.9 debug version and I'm moving to LLVM 3.2 debug version of metadata. On my example I got llc 3.2 to fail on following assertion: llc: /work1/tools/llvm/3.2/sources/lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/DwarfDebug.cpp:1471: void llvm::DwarfDebug::endFunction(const llvm::MachineFunction*): Assertion `TheCU

Assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference SEH
Hi, I'm gettign an assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference when compiling the following bitcode: https://gist.github.com/carlokok/868cddebeb9acc8ccbac6253de0480b0 I tried removing the llvm.frameaddres calls but that's not it, where can I start looking for what my mistake here is? Code seems to verify just fine. ; #0 0x00e1afe8

Assertion fail/crash in X86FrameLowering::GetFrameIndexReference SEH
I think r262546 introduced the assumption that allocas are used exactly once with catchpad. It seems easy to fix, though. [RFC] Interprocedural MIR-level outlining pass
Hi Violeta, I compiled with clang -Oz and clang -Oz -mno-red-zone for comparisons against Oz and clang -O0 and clang -O0 -mno-red-zone for comparisons against a default clang. I unfortunately don’t have the clang commit I worked with on my home laptop, and don’t have access to the computer I was using at Apple, so I can’t help you there. Using BuildMI to insert Intel MPX instruction BNDCU failed
Hello everyone, I'm a newbie of llvm. I'm trying to insert Intel MPX instruction BNDCU with BuildMI. I add my machinefunctionpass at addPreEmitPass2. Here is the code of insertion: BuildMI(MBB, MI, DL, TII->get(X86::BNDCU64rr)).addReg(X86::BND2, RegState::Define).addReg(X86::R10); And here is to stack track when I compiler program with modified llc:

Risc-v Assembly printer function order
Hello, I am working on the assembly printer for RISC-V, more specifically on the AsmPrinter class. I altered the RISCV Backend to print C code instead of Assembly, interpreted by libraries... (but that's not important) My problem is that, for my application to work, I need to treat my functions in the order they are in the original C file. I discovered that these functions are not treated

What program did you use to test the feature, and what was missing information? I'd like to file that as a bug so that we can fix this later. uninitialized values in Attributes.cpp
> If 3.9 shipped with these issues (assuming these are not false positive), it would be interesting to 1) know why the sanitizers didn’t catch it, and 2) add valgrind to the release qualification process (CC Hans). Yes, I'd be interested to see some corroboration. Note that the issue here is pretty specific: it only happens during optimized compile using Clang-3.9. This is all I did:

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] R600/SI: Embed disassembly in ELF object
Hi, This patch adds R600/SI disassembly text to compiled object files, when a code dump is requested, to assist debugging in Mesa clients. Here's an example of the output in a Mesa client with a corresponding patch and RADEON_DUMP_SHADERS set: Shader Disassembly: S_WQM_B64 EXEC, EXEC ; BEFE0A7E S_MOV_B32 M0, SGPR6 ; BEFC0306

Question about 'isUnsignedDIType' function on DwarfUnit.cpp
Hi All, I have question about 'isUnsignedDIType' function on 'llvm/lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/DwarfUnit.cpp' When we want to generate object file with dwarf debug format, clang can generates 'DW_ATE_lo_user' encoding for complex integer type as follow: "clang/lib/CodeGen/CGDebugInfo.cpp" llvm::DIType *CGDebugInfo::CreateType(const ComplexType *Ty) { ... if

storing MBB MCSymbol in custom section
Dear llvm-dev-list, I have created my own custom section to be added at the end into a binary upon compilation which contains address of all basic blocks. As the final address of the basic block is not known until link time, I collect the MCSymbol* Symbol Values per BB in a temp array and at the in the custom section and emit it (emitSymbolValue) into my section within EmitEndOfAsmFile() I have

[LLVMdev] Emit a jump instruction to a place inside basicblock
Hi all, I'm a beginner in LLVM. Currently, I want to implement a pass that generates a jump table. The entry in that table is a jump to some place (may be an instruction) in a basic block. I'm reading the JumpTable code in llvm 3.5, there is a table which contains jump entries to functions. In AsmPrinter::doFinalization function from file lib/CodeGen/AsmPrinter/AsmPrinter.cpp, it gets a

[LLVMdev] Disabling emission of jump table info
I've recently changed the XCore target to implement BR_JT as a jump to a series jumps. The jump table entries are expand inline in the function so there is no longer a need to emit jump tables at the end of the function. However the emission of jump tables at the end of a function is done inside the AsmPrinter base class and there seems to be no way of disabling this. This also seems to

[LLVMdev] gdb + clang/llvm
Hi Jim, thanks for replying. As mentioned in my earlier mail, I have to specify -emit-obj along with -cc1 in order to trigger codegen. This solves the problem for me. As I learned from the last email, specifying -v is a good starting point in order to see what actually is happening and tackle such problems. -- Roland ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jim Grosbach"
