[LLVMdev] Fwd: Profile (-pg) segfault
Folks,
I'm trying to profile a code compiled with Clang and I'm getting a segfault

Strange clang behavior when compiled against musl
I have managed to compile llvm and clang against musl, but it behaves really strange:
At first I tried to launch the compiler with musl dynamic loader:
$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/musl/lib /path/to/musl/lib/ld-musl-x86_64.so.1 /path/to/llvm/bin/clang -v

Conflicts with custom passes
You are right. Thanks!
I fixed that one as well as some other issues.
I built LLVM-8 with Debug + no-rtti. But it now has the following error:

[LLVMdev] Assertion `PI && "Expected required passes to be initialized"' failed for AliasAnalysis.
Dear lazydev,
I'm writing an instrumentation pass that depends on AliasAnalysis. My
getAnalysisUsage() looks as follows:
2453 void ThreadSanitizer::getAnalysisUsage(AnalysisUsage &AU) const {
2454 AU.addRequired<TargetData>();
2455 AU.addRequired<AliasAnalysis>();
2456 }
and the pass initialization:

instrumenting device code with gpucc
Hey Jingyue,
Thanks for being so responsive! I finally figured out a way to resolve the
issue: all I have to do is to use `-only-needed` when merging the device
bitcodes with llvm-link.
However, since we actually need to instrument the host code as well, I
encountered another issue when I tried to glue the instrumented host code
and fatbin together. When I only instrumented the device code, I

[LLVMdev] gsplit-dwarf broken on Linux?
Hi!
Quick question - do you know if recent commits could cause this error, or I
should go to bisect/debug this? Do we have tests that check that
-gsplit-dwarf succeeds (i.e. compile and link step work)?
$ cat a.cc
int foo(int x) {
return x + 1;
}
int main() {
return foo(42);
}
$ ./bin/clang++ -gsplit-dwarf a.cc

instrumenting device code with gpucc
Hi Jingyue,
Sorry to ask again, but how exactly could I glue the fatbin with the
instrumented host code? Or does it mean we actually cannot instrument both
the host & device code at the same time?
Thanks!

Debugging LowerTypeTests in LLVM Using GDB
Hi,
I am looking into Control-Flow Integrity for indirect function calls,
implemented with jump tables. I want to step through the code that produces
these jump tables in GDB. I have built clang and opt from source with
debugging symbols. I believe this code lives in
llvm/lib/Transforms/LowerTypeTests.cpp, but when I try to debug *opt* by
running the command "run -lowertypetests cfi-icall.bc

LLVM crashing while trying to build SPEC with Clang
Hello,
I am building the SPEC 2006 Benchmark with Clang as the compiler. I have written a function pass in LLVM and I am trying to run that for SPEC by invoking the pass in the build options of SPEC. The build options of SPEC are in a *.cfg config file, which allows us to specify the choice of compiler while building SPEC. (https://www.spec.org/cpu2006/Docs/install-guide-unix.html)
The pass

Compile issues with LLVM ORC JIT
I tree to compile the LLVM ORC JIT examples. But I'm stuck in some
problems I can't solve my own.
First at all I compile with C++14 enabled with latest stable LLVM and
clang, this means 4.0.1. I get the following error. Do I missed some
specific compile option?
Compilation looks like this here.

[LLVMdev] clang looking for gold plugin when used with '-emit-llvm' option
Are you intending to try to link? That error message isn't coming from clang, but from /usr/bin/ld. If you just want the bitcode for the one source file, you need to pass "-c" as well, just like if you want an object file.
