[LLVMdev] get value
Hi Cristianno, Thank you, it works :) with an extra cast:                                     Value *v ......                                     ConstantInt* RR = (ConstantInt *)v;                                     uint64_t VV = (RR->getValue()).getLimitedValue();                                     errs()<<"\nRR  "<<VV<<"\n";

[LLVMdev] get value
Hi Alexandru, if you have a Value pointer named v, you could use the method v->getValue(). getLimitedValue(), which returns uint64_t, that can be casted as int. [LLVMdev] How to cast Value* to ConstantDataArray*
I extended the LLVM Kaleidoscope example to support Strings. I added a StringExprAST, which has the virtual Codegen method impl as follows: Value *StringExprAST::Codegen() { StringRef r(Val); return ConstantDataArray::getString(getGlobalContext(), r, false); } I am trying to concatenate Strings and have a ConcatExprAST with its Codegen method. Upon trying to access the data in the

[LLVMdev] CFG of a function
I think I understood that, but what I mean is what is the function responsible to do mapping is it MapValue() in ValueMapper.h? [LLVMdev] How to cast Value* to ConstantDataArray*
ConstantDataArray * cda = cast<ConstantDataArray>(v); throws this error: Assertion failed: (isa<X>(Val) && "cast<Ty>() argument of incompatible type!"), function cast, file /Users/rcatlin1/lldb/llvm/include/llvm/Support/Casting.h, line 208 Thanks for the help. [LLVMdev] porting to 3.1: ConstantDataArray
Hi, In llvm 3.0 llvm::ConstantArray had a ::getAsCString() method that returned the buffer as a std::string. Now it seems that 3.1 this method dissapeared. I found that llvm::ConstantDataArray has a method called getAsString(), but it returns a Constant*. What is the safe way to retrieve the pointer of the Constant array as a C string?

[LLVMdev] llvm get annotations
Hello everyone ! I followed http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4976298/modern-equivalent-of-llvm-annotationmanagerin order to get annotations from my target bytecode. All the examples that I give in the following is related to the code from that link. I have `__attribute__((annotate("DS"))) int f=0;` into the target C++ program and the related IR code: @.str = private unnamed_addr

[LLVMdev] vmkit variables internal representation
Yes ! Thank you a lot :) It seems vmkit bytecode is quite close to the classic LLVM, but still adaptations to the passes have to be done ________________________________ From: Tim Northover <t.p.northover at gmail.com> To: Alexandru Ionut Diaconescu <cyrusthevirus001x at yahoo.com> Cc: "llvmdev at cs.uiuc.edu" <llvmdev at cs.uiuc.edu> Sent: Wednesday, June 26,

[LLVMdev] Dead Code Elimination and undef values
Hello there, I'm writing a transformation pass for LLVM, and I hoped to use dce to clean up the resulting code after my pass. I just have some questions about LLVM's dce implementation. Well, my transformation is a function pass, and, after the changes are made, some instructions are not needed anymore. In order to easily get rid of those instructions, I'm setting all their uses to

[LLVMdev] How to implement list in llvm
Thank you for your answer! You are right, but I still don't know how to build such a list dynamically using LLVM API with user type inside (I don't know this type yet ofc). 2013/4/15 Cristianno Martins <cristiannomartins at gmail.com> > Hi, > > I guess you could use a template with a std::vector: you don't need to > define right away the type, if you create a

[LLVMdev] vmkit variables internal representation
Hi Alexandru, The Java bytecode does not give and use the name of the local variables. We can find them in an attribute used for debugging, but currently, vmkit do not use this attribute. It means that the llvm bitcode that vmjc emit does not contain these names. Finding local variables names could be useful, but we don't plane to implement this feature for the moment... If you are

Hi Alexandru, > For the local variable Q, it seems that the compiler is optimizing and > considering store i32 10691, i32* .... (into balance). You've probably got to convince the compiler not to optimise since eliminating those variables is probably one of the simpler things that goes on during optimisation. I'd expect

[LLVMdev] How to implement list in llvm
Hi, Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. I guess you want some kind of superclass of some set of classes that are defined in the llvm api(?). In that case, which are specifically the types you could have in this list you're trying to define? -- Cristianno Martins On Tuesday, 16 de April de 2013 at 04:22, B B wrote: > Thank you for your answer! >

[LLVMdev] (Possibly buggy?) doFinalization method behavior of FunctionPass
Hello again, First of all, thanks for all the answers =) they really helped a lot =D *Have you verified that some other pass is not adding the function declarations back in after your pass is executed (e.g., by using the -debug-pass=Executions argument to see what passes run after your pass)?* I considered that for a moment, but I realized that wouldn't be possible for two reasons: I
