[LLVMdev] RegisterCoalescing pass crashes with ImplicitDef registers
Hi, below is an output of "llc -march=r600 -mcpu=cayman -print-before-all -debug-only=regalloc file.shader" command from llvm3.2svn. The register coalescing pass crashes when joining vreg12:sel_z with vreg13 registers, because it tries to access the interval liveness of vreg13... which is undefined. I don't know if it's a bug of the pass, or if my backend should do something

I actually tend to agree with spop, it's cleaner to compute things at runtime than at compile time. One particular reason is wanting to pick the best target CPU for the current arch (which may not be what was compiled for). The current JIT target selection logic is really gross, I do believe that it tried to do this, but it probably needs some spring cleaning. Sebastian, can you try and take

[LLVMdev] Adding a stack probe function attribute
I started to implement inlining of the stack probe function based on Microsoft's inlined stack probes in https://github.com/Microsoft/llvm/tree/MS. Do we know why the stack pointer cannot be updated in a loop (which results in ideal code)? I noticed that was commented in Microsoft's code. I suspect this is due to debug or unwinding information, since it is allowed on Windows x86-32. I
