[PATCH 12/21] i386 Deprecate descriptor asm
Ancient inline assembler that manipulates descriptor tables is unreadable
and has no type checking. Doing this in C actually generates better code,
saves code space, and improves readability.
The fact that you must cast descriptors to (char *) for the inline assembler
to work properly caused me no end of grief working on these patches.
Note that GCC does not generate rotations to utilize

[PATCH] avoid ifdefs in desc.h, getting rid of pack_ldt and pack_tss
By Andi Kleen's suggestion, this patch removes pack_ldt() and pack_tss()
wrappers in favour of a general wrapper. It saves us an ifdef and some lines
of code, but more importantly, it's more elegant.
No functional change is made.

how to recreate eth0 - Realtek 8169sc
Hi all,
Our intranet's WAN interface just stopped working yesterday, and I
can't figure it out.
The machine has a Gigabyte motherboard, with on-board
RTL-8110SC/8169SC Gigabit Ethernet and D-Link PCI NIC for the LAN
side. I can get into the LAN side without an issue, but can't see the
WAN side at all.
[root at intranet ~]# ifconfig eth0 up

Basic data structures
I'm new to R and very excited about its possibilities. But I'm
struggling with some very simple things, probably because I haven't
found the correct documentation. Here's a simple example which
illustrates several of my problems.
Suppose I want to have a regexp match against a string, and return all
the matching substrings in a vector of strings.

[LLVMdev] Eliminating redundant loads
Hi,
I am generating following code:

Nested VM
Hello,
As part of my project for my MSc, I am looking for a solution to implement
nested virtual machines. My current scenario is:
- I have a server with AMD Phenom II X6 1100T and 8GB RAM - virtualization
enabled at BIOS.
- I have installed 64bit CentOS-5.6 with Xen enabled (let''s call it as
base1).
- On top of base1 I have also installed 64bit CentOS-5.6 (guest1) with Xen
enabled and

Trying to understand how puppet reports errors
Example of why I am asking the question (on a test setup environment)
Created a base-1 node
Created 2 slave nodes that inherit from base-1
Let''s call those slave1 and slave2
No errors. It all works.
Created a base-2 node
created a third slave that inherits from base-2. Let''s call that slave3
Get an error

[PATCH 0/19] desc_struct integration
Hi,
this is a series of patches that unify the struct desc_struct and friends
across x86_64 and i386. As usual, it provides paravirt capabilities as a
side-effect for x86_64.
I consider the main goal, namely, of unifying the desc_struct, an ongoing
effort, being this the beginning. A lot of old code has to be touched to
accomplish that.
I don't consider this patch ready for inclusion.

Loops for repetitive task
Hello,
I have an R script that I use as a template to perform a task for multiple
files (in this case, multiple chromosomes).
What I would like to do is to utilize a simple loop to parse through each
chromosome number so that I don't have to type the same code over and over
again in the R console.
I've tried using:
for(i in 1:22){
etc..
}
and replacing each chromosome number with

Hola,
Tengo un conjunto de bases de datos de una encuesta industrial para

vez, cada base de datos tiene 3 tablas con una variable "ID" común (la
"llave") para vincular las tablas.
Quiero realizar análisis estadísticos para analizar la evolución de ciertas
variables.

Need help for block committing
Hi all.
Can snapshots of identical images being blocked committed to the base
images that are not the original ones? For example, suppose I have base0
and made a snapshot of it called SN0, then I copy base0 as base0', can SN0
be block committed into base0'?
I think it's possible in theory but the block commit command just takes vm,
base, and top as parameters, since the snapshot file
